Has anyone really doubted Lee's ability to complete a handoff?

Look, I can understand being worn out from the criticism to a point, but to take the opposite path and glaze over all the problems like they don't exist is equally annoying to me.

POSITIVES, for those who think I can't recognize any. This was the most complete game our team has played, JJ showed improvement and a little more confidence. Defense is playing very well right now, as are special teams. LSU has a buttload of talent and can compete with anyone in the country. With improved QB play we could really be a force to be reckoned with. Running game has been pretty decent.

I understand that it is Miles' responsibility to play the best players, but there has always been some question of if he is willing to do that rather than sticking with seniority to a fault. I still wonder if that is a legit criticism and I definitely can't say it isn't. I can understand it more with Ford as Blue is a young player as well, but I am struggling to understand it with Lee. I do not buy the argument that a QB's psyche is so fragile. Football is about wining games AND competing well. We are grinding out wins against the lesser teams on our schedule, but like I said before, it is far from the teeth of our schedule. Jefferson is not doing great and Lee is not a freshman thrown to the wolves anymore. As it is, should a scrambling Jefferson (happens many times a game) take a hit that takes him out of the game for any period of time, Lee will be thrown the reins. The less rusty Lee is, the better.

I feel like the QB situation has been mishandled since 2008, and I feel like it is continuing. Not real impressed with our QB coach either.

One more time, our offense is struggling against the weaker teams on our schedule. That is not a good sign weather you want to hear it or not.

My main concern about last night is that if we hadn't started each drive with such good field position, each of those FGs could have been punts instead.

If we still played with leather helmets a lot of our players would probably have concussions this a.m. too.

CajunPunk is right. This was a solid win. Our defense is playing very good, but let's wait awhile before we anoint them. Our offense is doing a better job of running the ball on teams we should be running on. JJ is protecting the ball and taking less sacks. We are what we are. We are a team that can run the ball, but our passing attack is anemic and we are struggling to get TDs in the redzone. Jasper is a machine and I have a feeling he will end up having the record for the longest field goal in LSU history.
We have made improvements this year on offense (the O-line is better). You mention that our average starting field position was the 46 and say we are doing more with less. Come on! The fact of the matter is our defense is setting the offense up big time, but the offense is not converting.

Before anyone calls the APD (Agenda Police Department), I'm not calling for Les Miles' job. I do think there are some things we need to be doing to make the offense better, but I am waiting to see how the season progresses before I go off on the staff for not doing those things. I wouldn't have said this last year, but I really feel we are a QB away from doing great things. This is why I'm not hating on Miles.

    Correct.

But you would have to give the offense an A in that case and not a C.

It's like taking an exam and instead of 50 questions they give you only 25. If you get 22 out of 25 right, that's a whole lot better result than 28 out of 50.

    Quality over quantity.

Nobody would have had an issue with 375 yards and 41 points. Well at least I hope not.

Agree with this. Against Bama or even Arkansas, when the defense/special teams gives the offense excellent field position in 2/3rds of all drives, the offense has to get some touchdowns. Because those two teams are going to find opportunities to make big plays against LSU - their offenses are just good.

So LSU's offense has to be able to capitalize on defense/special teams execution.

I'm still psyched about 3-0 and recognize that MSU is not a JV team as some Trolls have said - LSU easily handled a pretty good, well coached, up-n-coming SEC West football team - MSU recruiting is getting better every year, I think.

I'd just like to see Pat Pete and Drake and Joe Barksdale get a shot at the SEC title game in their last year - they have the talent on the team to get there. And LSU can get lucky at times. Just need the offense to get better.

Just reading Chris Low's comments about the Florida Gators offense - you know the offense with the great athletes and the genius offensive coach. He says "they start poorly, thier not creative, and they don't throw the ball down field very well. Sound familiar.
Well I'm sure Gator Nation is blogging this morning that Urban guy has needs to get his offense together or we'll find someone who can.
