Articles like that are refreshing to read, especially coming from their backyard. But don't expect any USC or PAC1 fans to buy into that, even though there is already talk of it in week 4. Each week will bring us closer to that reality and they will still deny it. How you ask?

    USC Excuses
    1) We never play 1AA teams. :sob:

    2) We travel far from home for our OOC games. :sob:

    3) It doesn't matter that the teams we play suck now. They were good when we scheduled them and we should receive credit for that, regardless of their current status. :sob::sob:

    4) Notre Dame is a historic foe and is always a tough game. We should get credit even though they have sucked ass since '92. :insane:

    5) Our only regular season losses are to conference foes - proving the toughness of UCLA and Stanford. :insane::insane:

    6) The BIG12 and SEC don't even play everyone in their conference and we do. :sob:

    7) The SEC doesn't travel out of the south. :po:

    8) LSU has EIGHT home games. :angryfire

    9) Forget that an undefeated SEC champ will have defeated 3-5 Top ranked teams, they are all in the SEC, overrated to begin with, and thus those victories mean nothing.

    10) The SEC champ will have a close game vs a bottom dweller in the SEC and that will be proof that they really suck, but our close games vs terrible PAC 10 teams means our conference is competitive.

    11) Oklahoma has lost their last 4 BCS bowls. And we stomped them years ago anyway.

    12) Pete Carroll is the most brilliant coach alive. No, really... :thumb:

    13) Everyone just hates us because we are playing for our 7th straight NC. It doesn't matter if we didnt' play in the BCSCG, we will still whine that we obviously should have been there, some ******* in the media will validate our feelings, give us a worthless title so the pundits can claim the following year that we really won the championship and give us another pre-season #1 ranking. :insane:

Get ready guys, cause you're gonna hear this for the next 3 months .:hihi:

    14. For the amount of money we pay our players (see Bush) we deserve to play for the National Championship every year.
    15. My favorite (when they get left out) "We love playing in the rose bowl against our natural rivals in the Rose Bowl, there is no where else we would rather be" :hihi::hihi:

Imagine the travesty of USC being left out of the Championship game. That would be a national disaster and no doubt that Herbie and co. will plant a fake story to bring down a worthy team.

It's a loooooooooooooong season. As last year showed, anything (ANYTHING!) can happen.

I understand what you're saying here. It would show how absolutely ridiculous the system is if LSU, the defending national champions, were prevented from playing in the national championship just because of a human perception that they weren't good enough to be there based on preseason polls.

However, at this point, the possibility that LSU goes undefeated and prevented from going to the big game is now impossible since LSU would have beaten 4 Top Ten Teams--Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Alabama--and possibly a 5th in the SECCG.

It would be interesting to see three or four teams go undefeated and see how the BCS continues to claim how their jacked-up bowl system is still the best thing for college football. Not even having at least a four-team playoff is just beyond reason, in my eyes.

I understood the concept of what he was trying to say too, but there's no way in hell I want to see it come to fruition like he said he did.

That only happens to paper tigers (AU). But I don't wish it on anyone in the SEC!

If an SEC team goes undefeated, I am willing to say not only would they be #2 in the BCS, they would be ahead of an undefeated USC and be the #1 team in the BCS.

USC would be 2nd over an undefeated OU.

USC always gets the benefit of the doubt early in the season, but that's what happens when your national champion is decided by a glorified beauty contest.

A playoff would eliminate all this stupid crap.
