Yes, but even if you take away the 17 points off TO's the D gave up a ton of yards and points. I think both sides have to take the blame on this one. Mostly the QB's on the O side.

At this point, we are an average team. I'm not sure if we could hang with Boise State:nope:

Georgia has a great offense. I wasn't impressed by their defense though. They gave up 500 yards to a LSU team with a QB who turned out to be their MVP today. (17 points :nope:)

We're not a horrible team. Unfortunately we're weak at the most vulnerable positions. Lee still hasn't learned to look at anything but the receiver he's going to which makes him an easy read.

The secondary couldn't catch a cold right now. If we blitz, we leave them in man coverage and we get burned. If we don't pressure the QB, he has all day and we get burned.

I think the young secondary will learn. (Some of the blame may be related to the 2-DC system as well.) I'm hoping Lee will get better but he continues to make the same mistakes. If he doesn't progress during the remainder of this season, we don't need him going into next year as the projected starter.

There is plenty of blame to pin on the defense. What I believe is that we could have won this game had the offense not given them the points. Also, Georgia never stopped Scott. NEVER! It just looked like we should have thrown as little as possible and run the ball down their throats. That way, wee keep the ball and they have to score on long drives rather than 2 picks and a short field FG. This was a winnable game without the INTs.

I do believe it was winnable without the interceptions, as you say. But I do not believe the interceptions had jack $hit to do with the defensive collapse.
The only way we win this game is by outsprinting Georgia to the finish. Lee was never expected to do that(and was replaced for part of the game anyway). Lee needs to improve mightily after this game, but ignoring the obvious decencies on defense will be the downfall of this team.

Why does everyone continually come with this we are young crap :angryfire. That is a cop out as there are many teams that just reload and keep on going year after year for the most part. That is what elite teams do. They reload and find someone that can get it done.

LSU is back in the elite fold and in order to stay there the tigers must do as the others do reload and get the job done. In the SEC you can't cake walk through a couple of seasons like some of the other conferences. Otherwise its back to the ho hum years.

Also I think they need to get away from the loyalty bull and go get a top notch DC. I have nothing againse the guys handling it now but the dual thing doesn't work and neither of these guys seem to show the stuff that LSU Defense has been known for in the past years.

Like the defending national championship team with a Heisman winner that lost 4 games last year?

    You mean, like that?

The poor play of the expected solid defense line is the key to all the defensive problems as I see it. But we still look slow to me.. or is that just being out of position all the time??

They are not out of position all the time. They are simply getting beaten on the line, and/or the Lbs and Safeties either make poor decisions or poor tackles. Some blame has to lay at the feet of the DC but plenty has to lay at the feet of the players.

    There will be big changes.
