I think Charles Scott/Keiland Williams could be almost as potent as Jones/McFadden (Ark) and Cadillac/Ronnie Brown (Aub).

Murphy's awesome too, and Holliday is an absolute lightning bolt.

Then you have Perriloux (who can run) and his targets: Tolliver, Byrd, Mitchell (he should improve), LaFell.

It looks like a team that can light it up, or pound you into the ground and run clock.

We will miss Hester next season like you wouldn't believe. In the short yardage situations, Hester was much better at getting yards after contact, but Scott and Williams are faster and shiftier in the open. Hester saved our @ss countless times that Scott and Williams wouldn't have been able to do.

I think they will be great next year, but I will be a little nervous on the 3rd and 4th and shorts without Hester.

I would lik to see them get lower to the ground on short yardage situations and when they may contact. They both run straight up and never get low at contact. This is why Hester was great at yds after contact. He ran with a forward lean and just got lower than the defender and squirted forward.

But I am looking forward to seeing these guys get a lot of time, but Hester's bruising ability will be sorely missed. There will be situations next when Williams or Scott are stuffed at the line and we will wish we had Hester.

Go watch tape of Charles Scott, he is a great power runner and I think he will only get stronger this off season... now it remains to be seen if he has the heart and determination that Hester had... but he has the same tools. Keiland will be our shifty change of pace back (Shyrone Careyesk).

Willaims and Scott, IMO, don't have the explosiveness as Jones and McFadden but if RP can run the Crowton offense efficiently this could be the highest scoring offense in LSU history again. We are loaded next season with talent and experience at every position.

At first I thought Scott would be a good replacement for Hester in short yardage (and certainly a better option than Keiland), but I harken back to that Kentucky stuff on 4th down. He got hit and he went down in a heap. He didn't know what hit him. Hester would have bounced off and landed across the first down marker. First down.

It's gonna be an issue I think.

Thanks Jacob, for all those gutsy first down runs.

That's was because a LB came through clean and drummed him. Almost blind-sided him, if I remember correctly.

yeah that was a good hit by the LB. Hester probably would have broken it yeah, but he was also a senior who would've anticipated the hit after 4 years of experience.

Scott was a sophomore who got about 5 carries a game, next year he should be a reliable short-yardage back ala Alley Broussard pre-injury.

Yeah that's pretty much what I was trying to say.

Scott runs so high though, I don't know if he can become that bruiser back.

Agreed. Hester will be missed, but Scott should do a fine job filling his place as a tough runner. Not to mention, our O-line will be even better next year, hopefully opening up even bigger holes for our RB's. We'll be fine.

I think next year's offense has even better potential than this year. We will have more experience all around: O-line, WR's, and RB's.

Perrilloux might just be spectacular. I can't wait to see if he blossoms the way we all expected the day he signed with us 3 years ago. He already has a year under his belt with Crowton's offense. I can't help but think that Crowton will open up our offense even more with RP's dynamic play making abilities.

Maybe we'll be so good on offense it won't come down to a 4th down and 1.

That's what Lesticles said in the pregame against OSU when asked about his gambling ways (not those exact words but that's what he meant).
