It is no secret that our offense is very conservative. Add the drops and lack of big plays and being 90th in total offense (110th in passing offense) equals lackluster in my eyes just like in years' past. Don't get it twisted the defense and special teams are making it very easy for us to get in the redzone and even significantly contributing to our point totals. I also wouldn't call a team having to drive down the field like a majority of teams padded stats becasue that is more of the norm around the country than what we have going for us and that is a huge plus.

I wasn't making it a JJ/Lee debate but Lee came in behind JJ last year and made some good plays. JJ won many games but he has also benefited from defense and special teams helping tremendously. Kind of funny that our offensive rankings being low last year wasn't even close to being acceptable throughout the year while JJ was QB but we are seeing similar rankings and it is all the sudden borderline OK.

Don't get me wrong, I think the offense is going to break out and I hope I see some of the things I posted above implemented to open up the offense some. All we need is a little because we have the team to where Lee doesn't have to be a world beater just like JJ last year. I would say we have an even better chance at that this year given the young talent and amazing D.
