Err, if we were top 20 in all phases we'd beat the sh#t out of everyone. With a top 50 offense this year we're playing for the third ball.
How many of y'all remember DiNardo? OMG! Les deserves to be very well paid. He is a man of character (Perriloux incident), he supports all aspects of LSU sports (his presence in Omaha at the CWS), he is the winningest coach against 'Bama - that's why Charlie Mac was fired - couldn't beat 'Bama). My only gripe is his love of Jefferson and I think the platoon system worked well this year. The pressure that Lee put on Jefferson helped win games. With this recruiting class, bye-bye Jefferson. By the way, I think it is his wife that made the decision for him to stay. It is very difficult to get a woman to move back north, especially to that Michigan whore - Ann Arbor - where it is butt numbing cold and it snows profusely after so many years in the south (Dallas, Stillwater and Baton Rouge). If he can do it all this year, I think a huge raise is in order.
After his first 3 seasons of 11-2, 11-2, 12-2 w/ a Nat'l Championship, he was given a pay raise. The next 3 seasons went 8-5, 9-4, 11-2. That's not to the level of success pre-raise and I'm sorry but that doesn't warrant a pay raise. Better job security? Sure.
