I hope this is not going to a problem with the forum rules.

I would like to share a story posted by a fellow LSU fan in Tigerdroppings today . Quite a moving story.

"Heaven is near Baton Rouge" (Posted on 12/18 at 3:37 p.m.)

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A number of months ago, I lost my mom to ovarian cancer. My brother, dad and I were able to spend the last few days with her before my family came down to meet us for the funeral. My mother-in-law asked my five year old daughter today if she new what Heaven was. "Yes," she said, having gone to the funeral and hearing all about Heaven. "Heaven is near Baton Rouge."

My mom followed the Tigers casually, but she knew my Dad, my brother and myself love the Tigers and that we'd be able to go to the NC game if they made it this year. My mom had always done anything she could to get all three of us together anytime she could. We don't get to see each other but once or twice a year. Given the way this season has gone, I've always wanted to believe the Tigers were getting some help and my mom had a hand in it. Then, on December 1st, the impossible happened. An injured LSU team won the SEC with a backup QB and nightmare distractions. OU beat number one Mizzou for the second time. And Pitt, who had no chance, beat West Virginia on the road. And all of this happened on a very significant day...my mom's birthday. So when my daughter said this...well, it sure does seem like Heaven is at least closer to Baton Rouge than I had originally thought.

One link that was also in that thread that was quite an interesting read:

Sorry, it was something about the team's destiny this year. Fascinating.

I can further backup this story... (HEAVEN IS NEAR BATON ROUGE)

I lost a best friend to a car accident recently. As oddly this sounds, I and the rest of his friends still go to his myspace page to leave him comments. As if he can somehow check this in heaven.

Anyhow the week of the sec championship game I wrote a request to see if he could actually check his myspace in heaven. Here it is:

Hey T, think maybe you can cause West Virginia to lose this weekend? Just a small miracle is all I'm asking. Ohhh and Mizzo has to lose too along with an LSU win for the unexplainable BCS National Championship invite. Thought you could pull a few strings up there.

Miss ya and luv ya man!

I knew you had some pull up there!

THANKS SOOOOOOOO MUCH MAN! Everyone here is so suprised the UNTHINKABLE could happen.

Some folks question wether i really think you had the pull. I tell them, if we had the answers to that question and the many others... Then their would be NO HOPE.

miss ya, hope you gota good seat for the game on the 7th. Let's let fate decide this one this time.
