Respect is earned Mister, and when you get defensive and call me out about a post, that isn't necessarily screaming out "RESPECT ME! I'M OLDER THAN YOU, YOU MUST SHOW ME RESPECT!" Like I said, I don't care who you are, how old you are...if you treat me with respect and dignity, I'll be honored to do the same. Until then, keep talking, and keep sitting in the stands. See ya.
I don't think that putting in a green quarterback who's NEVER faced an SEC defense is the right thing to do, most of all against the gumps. You think it's bad now? Do that and watch ALL the wheels come off.
I never said Bama. Im just saying with how bad Mett has played the last few weeks at some point Rivers should have been put in a series or two. Give him an opportunity. Honestly, it cant get much worse than what it is. Mett stares down his receivers. He hasnt shown any touch on the deep ball. He is very green as well, holding on the ball too long. He doesnt have a good pocket presence.
lol Since you're so much older than me, I really hope you enjoy the latter years of your life. May they be filled with good health and joy.
I would add, Ware was wide open downfield numerous times after his chip block but never got a look. Mett needs to try and see whole field, but within the few secs he has to check down. How is this not being coached?
Great OP and great thread. CLM cannot be blamed for the fact that Mett is not where he needs to be. I'm not sure that Mett will ever be a good QB at this level or the next, but, this is not CLM's fault. As Stacey O has stated, CLM has demonstrated that he will upgrade the subordinate coaching positions during the off-season, should it become apparent that a change is warranted. CLM will do so in the most classy manner humanly possible, but, he will replace coaches, should he find it necessary. There will not be coaching changes during the season, and, we all know this; and, nor should there be coaching changes mid-season. I have doubts that Mett will become a good QB, but that's just my opinion based my observation of him. He seems small, weak, hesitant, indecisive, confused and immature. When I compare him to many other young men his age, Mett seems more like a boy than a young man. I truly want him to succeed for the fans, for LSU, for Coach Miles and, most of all -- for HIMSELF. I'd love to see Mett own the QB position at LSU like it's been his destiny since the day he was born. I want to see him as a leader and a "Field General" out there as he takes control of the huddle and leads the team to Victory. I want to see Mett bask in the Glory of being a Champion. When I was Mett's age, had already completed Army basic training, advanced individual training, and Army Airborne/Paratrooper training at Fort Benning. That was all great, but, Mett now has a chance to do great things, and, I'd love to see him be Great.
FIFY Negative recruiting at it's finest. All an opposing recruiter has to say to a QB considering LSU is 'Do you really want to go and play in THAT offense'? Game over... Definitely sounds like some self scouting is needed during the bye. Not against Bama, but it couldn't have hurt giving him a series or two against Towson or in the first half yesterday since we could not have played much worse in either game.
Ohhhh how I wish Les would go out and get a John Chavis type of offensive cordinator.......what I mean by that is someone who obviously is very good at what he does, and that Les knows he can trust and leave him the hell alone to do his job! Chief is a mastermind, first two drive lsu'd defense was shreaded, chief goes to work , make adjustments, and bam.....atm's offense is shut down!! LES please go find an offensive john chavis!!
