A&M to the SEC?...Here we go again... Report: Texas governor says Texas A&M considering move to SEC - ESPN
Report: Texas governor says Texas A&M considering move to SEC - ESPN According to the governor, A&M is considering it. I think this will negatively influence our recruiting in texas, and frankly i dont think A&M is even SEC worthy, but hey we'll see. Here's some quotes Texas Gov. Rick Perry says his alma mater, Texas A&M, and the SEC are discussing the Aggies possible future membership in the league, according to a report in the Dallas Morning News. "I'll be real honest with you. I just read about it the same time as y'all did. ... As far as I know, conversations are being had. That's frankly all I know. I just refer you to the university and the decision makers over there."
It could actually help recruiting to have an SEC team in Texas. Right now, we are basically taking Big 12 kids to the SEC.
Counter argument is this... LSU already recruits the Houston area well. Moving into the SEC may actually help aTm more than LSU in the recruiting scene, since it's possible the reason the Tollivers and Sheps of the world go to LSU is because it's the closest SEC team. This wouldn't be the case should aTm make the move.
I am more worried about Texas A&M taking recruits from Louisiana How many players on our current roster are from Texas
Our bread and butter is good Louisiana talent. I am not saying the Texas kids aren't good, but WE are still LSU.
Meh, they'll have to step up their game to pull players from LA that LSU wants. Every year lately, there's some kid(s) from LA that commit early to aTm, then LSU offers, and they come to LSU in the end. LSU will never have to worry about LA talent leaving the state, unless we revert to the 90s and aTm becomes a better team. - There's a few TX players still on the team, including Trevon Randle and Shep.
Ya thats true. Only difference would be Atm selling the point that they are now in the SEC. I think if Atm can continue to grow its program it could get ugly for us
