Yeah and not only that, we never know what conditions they took the test under.....after going out all night, etc. I wouldn't go that far in saying that either. Plus like you said, maybe he didn't apply himself but one thing is for sure, he needs to get serious about it now.

    True...Uneducated is the better word.

Still he is at fault. By junior high, you are aware of the things you need to do to get to college. It's a shame really. Kid could have been the truth.

Still has a chance really, but I dont see him making it...

I'm sure Prime Time could foot the bill.

If the school passed him on the merits of his going to college and the NFL then the school has to take the lion's share of the blame.

Just curious, about Deion. What is the difference between Joe McKnight talking to Reggie Bush, and Noel Devine talking to Deion Sanders? Before you say that Deion is his legal guardian, he's not, and never was. He ALMOST was, but Devine didn't like the arrangements. Now that the kids over 18, I doubt anyone can be classified as his legal guardian. Say Devine winds up at FSU...doesn't that constitute some sort of wrongdoing in the eyes of the NCAA? We all know Deoin is helping this kid, and quite frankly, I think it's very admirable. BUT, I can't see a difference in Reggie Bush allegedly talking to McKnight during his USC recruitment, and Deion talking to ND during his FSU recruitment.

Its not the school. Its the system. The system allows these injustices to happen with no accountability when its discovered. This is one of the major faults in today's public school systems. Until the politicians (who are the wrong people to be making these policy decisions) throw away the current plan and start over, its not going to get any better.

In Baton Rouge, the Chamber is fighting tooth and nail to try and change the way that public education works in the city/parish. They are fighting a major uphill battle. They are offering solutions, not just id'ing the problems. Until the proposed changes are embraced, you are not going to see any significant changes take place.

Off topic for a moment -- I heard a rumor that Shenandoah will be the next independent school district in EBR Parish. This amounts to another Central and Zachary school district. This will make a true neighborhood school in the city, remove kids from T-bldgs, and stop the senseless bussing of children across town.

Have you been keeping up with the politics in NO surrounding the Orleans Parish School Board and the Recovery School District? Those with cronies in the OPSB want to put the OPSB back into power after only one semester under the RSD. Back to the old way of doing things instead of accepting a paradigm shift and doing it a different way. Cause let me tell you, the OPSB was HIGHLY effective in what they were doing. Churning out under-educated students, and pilfering money.

I think its analagous to Eric Edwards and Bradie James (both of LSU) accompanying Saban on recruiting visits on behalf of Alabama. If they are not acting as a representative of their school, they can communicate with kids. At least, this is my interpretation of the situation...

OK, but think about it. James and Edwards were with Alabama's coach. They weren't recruiting for their school. Deion is an FSU former player, and my question is concerning the fact that FSU is and has always been in the running for ND. If FSU wasn't in the running, I'm sure it would be nothing, much like James and Edwards accompanying CNS to recruit for Bama. But if ND chooses FSU, I don't see how there isn't some rule they're breaking. Now, James and Edwards can't recruit for LSU, because they're "boosters", by definition. Deion is a "booster" for FSU. See my point?

I'm with you. I haven't kept up with the ND recruitment process, and wasn't aware that FSU was recruiting him. If he ends up signing with FSU, that would appear to be a rules violation. I'm sure there are lots of legal loopholes, witnesses, etc. that would clear Deion from any wrong-doing. You know, just trying to help a kid out, angle. I never told him to sign with FSU....
