Noel Devine = Shyrone Carey He'll be a scat back... he may end up as good as Warrick Dunn, but I don't see him being super dominant in a big, tough conference. He's a better fit at WVa or Louisville, etc...
no offense, bro, but you're wrong. he has 'it'. He will be the best back out of this class if he can get on the field. Granted, that's a big if, but still.
None taken... but Noel Devine is 5'8 175 lbs., all the talent in the world isn't going to help that aspect. Does he have the tools to be a great back? Yes. Does he have the size? I don't think so. I'm not saying I'm right, but I just see his ceiling somewhere around Warrick Dunn level... and thats if he has a good OLine.
Barry Sanders, 5' 8" 203 #s :http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/SandBa00.htm I have no idea if Devine is even in his league but his size may not necessarily be an issue. I believe that Shyrone was more in the 5' 6" range. Lets be honest as well, Shyrone ran pretty good in '03. Rememver how well he ran in the Jawja game at home ? Sounds to me like Devine has "issues" but if he can overcome them he could be succeed. Who was Deione targeting his article to anyway ?
it's a legit point you bring up. would anyone say Holliday would make for a legit everydown RB? we don't even say he's an everydown WR, for that matter.
All Dunn did is achieve All American like status and make a few Pro Bowls. That would be such a travesty to reach that level. Devine has gamebreaker speed and far more moves than Carey could dream of. Not taking anything away from Carey, but Devine has special talents that very few have. He is as close to Sanders as there has been. He is a better fit in the West Va system, but outside of McKnight Id take Devine over any other back.
