They Hayride article is closer to the truth than Joe Schad's reports although I can't believe I'm lending credibility to the Hayride.

Not buying that given negotiations were still ongoing as of Saturday and I know that to be fact.

This was the guys running the university reminding everyone who is boss and made a decision to not support any change even if the boosters forked up the money which they weren't going to do as of Saturday morning anyway.

It is obvious that Miles loves LSU. However, the events in the last two weeks have shown that LSU has little loyalty to Miles (attempting to hire a coach for LSU when there was not a vacancy, then "allowing" Miles to keep his job by default when the better guy fell through). Given the number of Power 5 jobs available, what are the chances of one of those schools (like Virginia, or Maryland) getting in Miles' ear and offering him a new job? What are the chances of Miles leaving LSU if that were to happen? and what kind of lurch would Miles leave LSU in if that happens after the bowl game???

If they take this ass clown from us, I'll send them whatever's left of my Christmas peanut brittle - AND an ugly sweater.

Its funny to me how outside of LSU, most media/pundits/fans think, just based on Miles' record, that LSU fans are crazy and there should be no way to let Miles go. But, the fact of the matter is his Football record the last 3-4 years and the way the team has looked in loses is why LSU should make a coaching change. IF LSU had handled his termination the way UGA handled Richt's there would be very few complaints. The fact that LSU looks horrible in how they handled this swings way in Miles' favor for making LSU his bitch for several more years

What's really funny is that these are the same people that ridiculed Miles weekly and called him a total joke and moron. They called him the luckiest coach ever and said he was out coached in almost every game. Now that he almost lost his job he is the greatest coach ever. A coaching genius! LSU fans that supported him for a decade were idiots blinded by their purple and gold glasses if they thought Miles was a good coach. Now they're idiots for wanting him gone. Remember all the SEC coaching rankings that come out every year? Miles rarely ranked in the Top 5, now all of a sudden only Saban is better. Don't give credibility to what other fans, sports writers or talking heads are saying, what do your own eyes tell you?

How would that benefit the guys at the top to engage in some bullshit pissing contest over the future of their biggest revenue generator? it's even more idiotic that boosters were ready to put up the buyout, but somehow thought luring a NC winning coach to make a lateral career move would come at the same cost as Miles' current deal.

I'm sure that this question has been answered within one of the many threads over the past week or two, but didn't Saban leaving LSU have something to do with our meddling boosters? I recall hearing back then that it was a major factor in him leaving and he felt that their presence would get more annoying over time.
