The other name being bandied about as far as surprises go is Damien Berry. Although he is clearly Miami at this point. And we just got Francois. So makes no sense.
Exactly! You always appreciate far more what you earn than what is given. Thats the only reason Id say to take him back. And the only reason Id want him back is to shove it in the face of $aban and Bama. If there is a BIG surprise Id say it would be a signing from Davis. Although I dont really forsee it happening it would be a nice way to show up $aban on signing day.
I recall on some website some recruit how had already committed stating he would have a surprise on signing day. I don't recall who it was but it was not an LSU commitment. I tried to locate it but failed.
I would say that Luther is really hating his decision about bama...and I'd bet he's hoping that the LSU coaches except him... 1-he gets to be part of one of the greatest Classes ever. 2-he gets the heat off of him from Louisiana people. 3-he gets a better chance of tasting championships quicker at LSU. 4-Closer to home for family visits to see him play. 5-gets to play with Highschool teamate Will Blackwell. theres a lot of upside to him take a gray-shirt.
If there is a surprise, I just hope it is a good one – which I think DD is alluding to in his report. As far as Davis – again, my opinion is that there should be consequences for your actions, even if you are a 17 or 18 year old. Davis has mislead LSU fans for sure, and probably the coaches. He bragged about how he was working to recruit other players to Alabama and away from LSU and other schools. He bragged about convincing other players (being recruited by LSU) to go to Alabama. Once he made his announcement to go to Alabama, he complained that his HS coaches and folks in Monroe/West Monroe did not support his decision. I think the fellow just wanted his 15 minutes of fame and he got it. I hope Coach Miles does not offer him – not even a gray shirt. His actions indicate that he will likely be a problem on any team and LSU does not need problems. ldskule:
Here, here. We need to frame this post. It's an instant classic. :thumb: Taking Luther Davis back is like having unprotected sex with a hooker who already gave you gonorrhea. No thanks.
Maybe so but he'd never get that chance with me.........."Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me". Especially after the comments he made about recruiting other players- after he was caught in an untruth. :thumb:
