Being Independent would probably give them the same stigma...see Notre Dame for refernece.

IMO, if they aren't in a BCS conference, they should be playing in another league. Like a step between 1-A and 1-AA. Or whatever the Hell they're calling it these days.

Out of curiosity, what happened to UNC?

Looks like they got 45 votes, not enough to make it. Dropped from 18... Pittsburgh dropped from 15.

i couldn't care less about polls at this point, but what pisses me off is:

    a) arkansas moving up so much, because they ain't played no one yet! their win doesn't warrant a jump that high. the media is trying to justify its prediction that LSU finishes fourth in the SECW.

    b) unc falling out of the polls. not because LSU struggled to beat them, but the team that i saw saturday deserves to be ranked. they had heart, they had spunk, they had the want to win.

why do two of these ranking piss me off? well, i generally do not subscribe to conspiracy theories, but it appears the man's trying his damnedest to keep LSU down this season. UNC falling out of the polls is a slap in the face to LSU. the pollsters are pretty much saying that UNC ain't shiit (i'd vehemently disagree,) and that LSU should have throttled them. i am really, really, really shocked they didn't drop LSU.

but like i said, it doesn't really matter. just chalk it up as another "wtf!?" top 25.

You win you're in. Not much in life as simple as that. An LSU victory such as was seen against UNC, is no worse and should be better, than when undefeated Boise St. puts a beat down on one of their many "sisters of the poor."
I'd say that was fair enough.

I think Auburn might have an argument to that point.

well, i honestly couldn't care less about the national championship game either right now. not this season. it's always at the back of my mind, but i'm just trying to be realistic. i just get tired of LSU getting the shaft when their win was more impressive than most of the other SEC teams' wins this past weekend.

I meant "you're in" as in up the food chain (polls). As Auburn and others have found out, when it comes to that last game, the rules are subject to change, without advance notice.:yelwink2:

I feel your pain, but they didn't lose and got to keep their spot or move up due to other people losing, same as us. Just a flow you have to roll with. Besides, except for the few absolute media darlings, everyone usually goes up just a spot or two.
