Re: 7/21 Updated Rivals Rankings California has huge population, that doesn't mean they get huge subscriptions. I bet LSU's subscriptions are much bigger than any team in the Pac 10, save for USC. Rivals had low resources in Louisiana a few years ago, but I think they've improved it recently. Sonny on Scout is much better than Mike at "scoops", but that doesn't have anything to do with rankings bc neither of them have much say there. Scout is the one that has no prescence in Louisiana among their national analysts. It's a problem for them, as you see with Tharold Simon's 3* rankings. Rivals is much higher on the LA talent than Scout is, just as they were last year.
Re: 7/21 Updated Rivals Rankings No freaking way Maclin dropped more than 100 spots after dominating the USC camp...?
Re: 7/21 Updated Rivals Rankings LSU will once again end up with approximately 15 of the top 250 players on rivals. Good stuff.
Re: 7/21 Updated Rivals Rankings Pending Hardricks 4* evaluation.. (assumption) and if Storm is a commitment.. we're already at thirteen 4*
Re: 7/21 Updated Rivals Rankings Rivals should have their JUCO rankings out pretty soon. Scout has Hardrick as a 4*.
Re: 7/21 Updated Rivals Rankings Where did you hear/read that review? He looked okay, solid, but didn't come close to dominating. It was all Powell at RSC.
Re: 7/21 Updated Rivals Rankings I'll see if I can dig up the article. The 'dominating' part was a bit of homerism, no lie. He impressed was probably a better word.
Re: 7/21 Updated Rivals Rankings I'm no football expert by any means but I watch a fair amount. I attended RSC and Maclin looked okay. I told bhelm he needed some weight but he did a'yit. After Powell, Heumuli, Oku, Jefferson, and a handful of others, his name didn't make the headlines. Would I like to see him in C&G? Sure. He also seems like a very nice and respectful kid.....plenty others didn't leave that impression.
