we should all pray for OhioSt to lose a couple more (there are several candidates--Wisc and PennSt the most likely). this will weaken USC's only "elite" win by the end of the season. any SEC team that runs the table would get to the BCS CG before USC then (because there would be probably 4-5 elite wins), and if OU rolls through the B12 and the B12 CG it would be SEC vs OU, not USC.

Correct on both points, but make no mistake, if LSU were undefeated (no going to happen with our QB situation), we would be matched against USC. OU has a history of choking in their bowl games, and we don't.

The media, and the fans for that matter, will want that LSU/USC match-up.

It's a long season. In the "first things first" category is Georgia putting up an impressive win against Arizona State this weekend. With Tennessee losing to UCLA, you can't be 0-2 against the PAC and claim conference superiority without raising eyebrows.

i dont know, if the P10 is worth anything, a road win against good team (even if by a top team) should be enough. just like the UGA win @ USC. they should not be penalized for that win, especially since that OU win over UW meant about as much as so. cal. over VA.

Very well stated. This is the exact argument why it is way to early to annoint them. In week 6, a new thread may exist about how overrated USC is since they lost to someone very inferior (I don't have their schedule in front of me). No one knows what is going to happen. Shoot, most of us thought LSU was the best team ever after beating #7 Va. Tech in nearly a perfect game by the Tigers last year, only to go on to lose 2 games in triple OT, and then benefit from a miracle upset by Pitt over WVU at midnight to put us in the NC game. Point being, all of the national media talk about how good USC is premature and overblown, just like it was for OU in 2003 (I mean who seriously thought KState could blow them out in the Big 12 Champ game?). Also, talk of Sanchez being the Heisman front runner after throwing for 178 yds, and albeit 4 TDs, is way premature, impressionistic on voters, and insulting to the KMoreno's, TTebow's, and others out there.

nah. the qb of any top team will be considered, especially if they throw a fair bit (which they do---we're not talking craig krentzel here.)

True, but the announcers were calling him the "frontrunner for heisman". This is the part that I take issue with. LSU was ranked #1 quite a bit last year, and ended #1, but no one talked about Flynn for Heisman, and he certainly had similar numbers against OSU in the NC game as Sanchez just did (I say that tongue in cheek, because I am not sure about Flynn's total TDs thrown:milesmic:, but certainly the yards could not have been less, and this was at the end of the season for which he was hurt and out for a few games). All I am saying is that Sanchez should not be considered the "frontrunner for heisman" after one game, and the announcers on national TV throw out these comments that end up being fairly influential on others. Hopefully, LSU goes on to win the NC, I won't end up caring much anyway.

    Here is an interesting note:

Not too shabby, considering the AP Poll has been around since the 1930s.

The SEC right now is the greatest conference college football has ever seen.

Let's hope we can somehow work our way through it....all four of the other teams are on our schedule. When, not if, we win the West we have to play one of them again.

And neither can Georgia, who has to play both of them.
