USC is with out a doubt the #1 team in the nation by a very large margin. They will go undefeated and play in the MNCG, if they play anyone other than a SEC team they will win it all. I think the only two teams that could beat them is Florida and LSU (with a good QB) other than that they blow everyone else out. DAMN I hate USC!:angryfire

You're wrong. Who has USCw played? Virginia? That would be the same Virginia team that got beat down by Connecticut 45-10...not impressive. So they beat an overrated Ohio State team...big deal. That's the same Ohio St. team that barely beat the Ohio Bobcats.

So they're ranked #1...big deal. Somebody has to be ranked there. But they have done nothing to deserve the praise that is being given them.

Offshoretrash: Remind me again who USC lost to last year? I know one of the L's was against a great team starting with an S... That was also a few weeks after they thumped a BIG-TIME overrated team named Nebraska and were hailed as the best team by far...

I do agree that through two weeks, USC is the easy #1 and a damn good football team. But they've played against two teams with almost no offensive power. Their schedule only contains one ranked opponent the rest of the way, but I won't just pencil them in yet. Remember last year...

I'll give you this. USC is the blonde actress with an expensive but perfectly manufactured body. Regardless of whether she's good or not, she'll get priority and friendly media coverage and will be assumed to be good until proven otherwise.

So you might be right. Then again, they didn't just beat a crappy Virginia. They CRUSHED THEM on the road. And they didn't just beat Ohio State. They CRUSHED THEM about the same as LSU beat a really crappy North Texas team.

So, hate all you want. USC is the only team other than Oklahoma that at this point is making a statement regarding their place in the polls. I'd say, for this point in the season, the voters (except for the ND votes :rolleye33:) got it just about perfect.

EDIT: Penn State should be above Ohio State. That's ridiculous.

I agree. In 2003, no one, I mean NO ONE could beat the greatest college team ever...Oklahoma. Let's see...How did THAT turn out? USC is very good and will have NO competition in the PAC-10 as usual. So, they may get to the MNC before they get exposed.

I used to think the same thing about Leinart that I am now thinking about Sanchez. Hasn't really been hassled much yet. Speaks well of the O-line. But, put him up against LSU or dare I say a Nick Saban coached team, and I really believe it's a different story.

But I digress. USC if fine at number 1 for now. My problem is that they will likely stay there...even with a PAC-10 schedule that is anything but mighty. Why shouldn't Ok, Georgia, Fl or LSU jump them...Answer...Because their USC.

If USC and Oklahoma run the table along with Florida and LSU (I understand the low probability), USC and Okla will play for the title.

    Discontinuing my rambling now. :thumb:

As far as ESPN and sportswiters are concerned, USC and Ok, all is right with the world

Even though that's a low probability, that thought deserves it's own thread. I'd like to see someone who really understands how the BCS works run that one to ground. SoS matters, but would it matter enough to unseat USC?

Florida and LSU can not both run the table because they play each other.

If USC, Georgia and Oklahoma all run the table, USC will play Georgia because of Georgia's strength of schedule. Period. That is not very likely to happen, but if Oklahoma and Georgia both have one loss, it could become a factor in that scenario as well.

The other scenario is for Penn State to run the table and then the media will try to justify why they deserve to be in the title game if all the other teams have one loss.

This is not last years USC guys. This is probably the best USC team Pete has had since he's been there. I know a lot of you will disagree but they have very few weak spots. They are loaded with future NFL players.

You can't make up all these teams to play against them. They will have the easiest road to the MNCG. I just don't see another team on the schedule beating them.

Like I said earlier I hate USC and it pains me to admit this but I call it like I see it. I just hope an SEC team makes it to the big dance so they can beat them.
