MU has the 24th ranked schedule according to collegerpi. I do realize LSU has the #2 according to the same service. I never said MU has had a tougher schedule... definitely much tougher than KU though. Mizzou has played 3 teams that were ranked at the time of the game. Another, Illinois, wasn't ranked at the time but obviously is now.
Welcome to the forum. Please keep telling us what to do, the locals love that. And the only reason you found SEC arrogance is because you were looking for it. This is an SEC forum. I can go to any other conference forum and find the same.
Tigernumbe-- Congrats on your season so far. But here my prediction.... Missouri loses to KU in a couple weeks and we never hear from you again. Then the ball bounces differently next year and Missouri is back to being a 7 or 8 win team in a mediocre conference. We have had so many visitors over the years who talk like you and this has invariably been the result. What do you think?
I think that's absolutely not going to be the case. The Mizzou program has been built from the ground up -- it has been a slow build by Pinkel but steady nonetheless. Next years team will quite a bit better than this years team. 9 of 11 starters return on defense, the QB, and great skill position players. Two NFL WR's (at least), an NFL TE, and arguably the best college QB return. I know you think "everybody says it", however, Mizzou fans and those that follow program truly believe the program has turned the corner. We signed the top QB in the state already for the next two seasons and we know how important that is. One is a Nebraska decommit and 5 star (Gabbert) and the other is a junior now and most think will be better than Gabbert (Dalton).
Yes, you correctly predicted my thought. And I do think that the others have really believed too. The key for me to believe is for Miss to sweep KU and OU. With all the stats on KU's schedule weakness, I think you have a fair chance of beating them. Also, I am fan of Chase. Good kid from a good city!
V-Tech has one of the worst offenses I've ever seen. Mizzou would crush V-Tech more times than not. No defense can shut down the Mizzou offense and Mizzou's improving defense could stifle the pathetic V-Tech offense.
I did more than that. For kicks, I looked at the SEC OOC schedule and the Pac's. If I get more energy I'll look at the others. So far this season, the Pac is 21-8 in OOC games having played 6 teams still in the BCS top 25. The overall there is 3-3 with losses to Wisconsin, Cincinnati, and Ohio State. The SEC is 37-5 in OOC games having played 3 teams still in the top 25. The overall there is 1-3 with losses to Missouri and West Virginia. LSU obviously has the ONLY SEC OOC win over a still ranked top 25 team, VaTech. Props to Troy for taking a beating 3 different times. Despite the tough in conference play, the SEC could make a more effective argument by scheduling OOC teams that are not the likes of Richmond, Kent St, S Carolina St, Gardner-Webb, Chattanooga, etc. And on the road too.......the furthest game was obviously against kal (the fraud team :rolleye33: ) but the vast majority are not much more than a busride.
