That's what Tony Kornhieser gave us on PTI's odds segment. He said if we win out against Ole Miss, Arkansas, and possibly Georgia or Tennessee we would handily beat anyone we played in New Orleans. On the other hand - Mike Wilbon said 10%, then bashed the SEC for being a fraud, and said we would lose to Arkansas IN ARKANSAS. First of all, know the schedule JACKLEG!! We play in our house. They didn't even correct him in the corrections segment either by the way. Second of all, I don't understand why the SEC is considered a fraud because more teams are able to win on any given Saturday. I long to see a day when we have a playoff system and SEC teams play each other for the NC year in and year out. I am sure they will set it up to where that could never happen though, making the SEC (once again) beat each other out of contention somehow. BUSTAZ.
Wilbon is a moron, he said the other day Kansas should be #1 right now due to LSU having Alabama as their toughest road game. how about checking Kanas's schedule, LSU you played in their first 2 games just as many teams with winning records as kansas has played in 10 games so far.Kansas would not be undefeated right now if they had played Troy's schedule much less LSU's schedule. Wake up America.
You know what really grinds my gears? National TV personalities not doing their homework. I like Wilbon, but he needs to stick to what he knows: Chicago sports, the NFL, and other things going on in his part of the country where college football is pretty much non-existant.
Kansas has probably the weakest SOS out of the top 15 teams. Someone correct me if I am wrong. We won't have to worry about them being mentioned for long, but when they lose to Mizzou, then people will say that Mizzou is the #1 team because they beat Kansas. It will never stop. I would like to see Kansas and Mizzou play Miss State, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, South Carolina, Arkansas, and Va Tech and see if they could even come out with more than 1 win. Doubtful.
I agree loco, the fact that it's rare that any SEC team goes undefeated speaks for itself. The competition is just too good. I hope the gayhawks do run it out, even though I like OU as my second team behind the Tigers. I'd love to see KS in the NCG and hear everyone in the media after they get exposed.
Wilbon is by-far my favorite national guy, but he's always severely lacking on college football knowledge. This goes beyond the traditional SEC persecution complex. I don't think he watches much CFB, as compared to the NFL, NBA, and MLB. that makes sense, as he's from Chicago and is a Northwestern guy.
Nah, I doubt this would happen. You see how quickly BC and USF fell when they lost for the first time. Mizzou already has a loss, so don't worry about them being crowned by everyone. I have watched them a couple of times this year, and it's a Jekyll and Hyde team. They've looked absolutely dominant at times, and then struggle v. aTm. Go figure. Wait a minute...that sounds a lot like a certain team we all love.
I used to like the guy too...but his OUTRIGHT HATRED of LSU and the SEC this year is wearing on my last nerve. Then his proclaiming VERY LOUDLY AND PROUDLY that LSU will lose to Arkansas in Arkansas made me foam at the mouth. Hush that crap up holmes if you don't even know what the heck is going on. Hater. How's his Northwestern team doing this year by the way? ESPN was just talking about Kansas again like they really do believe that they will win out??? Are you freaking kidding me???
He's entitled to his opinion just like everyone, and there is a legit discussion about the quality/depth of the SEC this year. I haven't figured out a good way to analyze it, so I don't know if it's true or not. I SUSPECT the SEC is strong as usual, but IMO, it's tough to say. Of course they were. They breathlessly report the silliest things, and have to fill their time somehow. Kansas winning out is a helluva lot more interesting than acknowleding the SOS will happen and OU wins the Big XII.
