A horrible coaching decision. An impossible situation. I like Colt David. He kicked it like he had nothing to lose. Good for him. But this wasn't a Tom Dempsey situation. That whole series was completely mis-managed by the coaching staff.
Most 63 yarders don't. Maybe "won't" would be a better choice cause I haven't seen many attempted. I agree but the ref blocked Toliver and that could have resulted in the 10 yards we needed. I think he had the distance for a 50 yarder.
I thought he would have been down at the 42. That still would have been a 59 yarder. As I watched it, LSU looked to be fortunate that it was an incomplete pass to allow the clock to stop immediately. I was pissed at the ref as well. Even fouts pointed out that the d'bag was in the wrong part of the field. :angryfire
I love Colt but the call to begin with was pretty bad. I hate it that he was placed into that position. I just don't even think 63 yards is doable with even a wind from the back, very low percentage at best. Ironically, it was the perfect end to a perfect half.
You are probably correct, I was assuming he'd get YAC. As far as the ref, they've been in entirely too many plays this year. lol.
Yeah, he would have had the ref not tripped him up. Are these the Awbarn refs that we got today?
A long field goal is probably a higher percentage play than a Hail Mary. But that doesn't bother me. We had already lost that game by that point. What still will bother me for weeks is before halftime: 3rd and 1 and we go for the endzone and settle for a field goal. :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire
That was a ridiculous call and one that goes in the crowton bag of chit calls which is quickly getting full.
