1. realize that a ___ (fill in the blank) point win is not your God given right or privilege. 1A.realize that being a LSU fan does not automatically protect you from a loss just because you are a LSU fan. 2. realize that being a LSU fan does not automatically make you the most knowledgeable person in the room (virtual or otherwise).
It's a little like avoiding a woman that is menstrual. Ok I can do that, but what about all the other days of the month when she is technically premenstrual? Eerily similar.
1-6. Stop pretending like you're smarter than the entire coaching staff. Seriously, though. It's not that hard if you WANT to enjoy it. If you're looking for a reason to complain, you'll find one. Regardless of how well the team is doing. It's going to be frustrating at times.
Great post, football for me is a getaway, its much better to just enjoy the moment with freinds and family....
Well, I had my most enjoyable LSU game watching last night against MSU that I have had in a while. I expected and saw a lights out defense keep the Mullet offense in single digits, and a lights out STs play fantastic in all phases! This, my friends, will win us a lot of games this year, keep us in the NC chase, and make it an enjoyable season to be a Tigerfan. I expected and saw an average offense with the inability to consistently get the ball to our #1 recruit playmakers, RRandle and Shep, but we only punted once, scored on most possessions, and actually got better as the game went on. JJ's stats were not much better overall, but he somehow "looked" better. As always, frustrated with the playcalling, esp. first half, but when you have our D and STs, you have to keep the big picture in mind and sit back and enjoy/appreciate watching our team - of course, that is unless your name is SIU, then you have no ability to enjoy the positives, just relish in what are not our strengths and be miserable. I definitely drank my share, ate some excellent red beans and rice while enjoying good LSU company, and sat back and enjoyed my Tigers. Was waiting to hear Mark May apologize for being wrong on his upset alert, but did not let that ruin my night when he didn't. Trust in the steps, and you will enjoy watching LSU this year. Don't focus on Crowton, playcalling, etc. Instead, focus on how great our defense is becoming under Chavis, how great our recruiting has been, esp on D, how young our playmakers are, and how great our STs are becoming. If our offense does anything spectacular, it is gravy, but I expect mediocrity there and that will be enough this year!
Also worth noting is that LSU has beaten 2 SEC opponents by 20+ points each whereas some SEC teams ranked ahead of them have yet to play a single conference opponent.
I posted this earlier in the year, and now that the regular season is over, thought I would revisit it. Well, we won 10 games, exceeding most peoples expectations for this year. I, for one, enjoyed this season the most since our NC run in '07, more b/c of how I approached the season as a fan rather than the Tigers success. Having said that, I am damn proud of our Tigers success, too. The games we lost were against the most potent offenses on our schedule, and our offense just couldn't match their production. Our defense and STs were certainly our strength all year, and our offense had some bright moments. Hopefully, we improve next season at QB and playcalling, and make a run at the NC in 2011! Congratulations to this years team, who still has a chance at winning an 11th game in a BCS bowl and finishing the year in the top 10. :geaux:
