1. Realize and expect that the defense is going to play lights out, but they are young and are going to make a few mistakes along the way. They will give up some yards, but not a lot of points. By keeping teams under 17 pts a game, they will win most games for us. 2. Realize and expect that the offense is talented at the athletic positions, but are average on the line. They will be dynamic at times, and frustrating at times. But they will score enough to win. 3. Realize and expect that our special teams will be a strength. They will be the X factor. If we blow out any teams, it will be because of our special teams play. 4. Realize and expect that the coaching philosophy will be to build a lead, play solid defense and special teams, and you will win most games. There will be a few frustrating bonehead decisions along the way, but do not let that overshadow the overall success on the field. 5. Commit to a time out period after the game before venting frustrations about the team or coaching. 6. And last, but not least, sit back, relax and watch our LSU Tigers go on to win a bunch of games this year (my prediction is 10+) with a bunch of good friends, food, and drink! The ride will certainly have some ups and downs, but we are all blessed to bleed purple and gold and root for our Tigers!!! Lets allow it be a fun experience and keep our expectations reasonable about the imperfections along the way. PI P.S. - I welcome any other positive steps for inclusion.
1. They need to figure out how to not give up yards too. If they don't we get killed in time of possession again this year. We're going to need a lot of offensive opportunities for us to figure out how to make JJ an effective QB and maximize the contributions of those skill players. 2. Yup 3. Peterson was a dynamo last week, but you can bet teams aren't going to kick to him if they can help it. We need some more tricks up our sleeve for special teams to be a major factor. 4. The coaching philosophy needs to be build a lead and take it to the other team for 4 full, focused, quarters. It also needs consistency, as in if something works, stick with it until someone shows they can stop you. Call it forging an identity vs. the all-you-can-eat buffet approach. 5. I try to use the 24 hr rule as a rule of thumb. 6. We win 10+ this season on that schedule and Les has nothing left to prove.
My positive thought of the week: "Always remember, the sooner your team falls behind, the more time you have to catch up."
I would modify #4 by adding "If you have a 20 point lead at hafltime, continue to do what got you the 20 point lead in the second half. Go for the juglar. DO NOT GO INTO THE CONSERVATIVE MODE.
Agreed, but remember, this post is about how to ENJOY watching Tiger football this year, not how to second guess, speculate, or express frustrations - cause we all have 'em, even Red. :hihi::hihi::hihi:
To heck with 1 through 5, this is it people, if you don't feel this way why be an LSU fan :thumb: And Go To Hell Ole Miss !!!!!! ( No offense Col Reb  )
