Ok, enough about Jefferson's performance last week. We all know he is getting the start Saturday, and frankly its out of our hands and there is nothing any of us can do about it. Lets just assume Jefferson is as good as he is ever going to get, and we will see basically a repeat performance of him last season. We finished 9-3 on the year, 3 losses all very close and win-able games! IF get past State, WVU, and Tenn.....can we get over the bump in the road that has ruined our perfect season the last 2 years. THAT BUMP being FLORIDA '08 - We were fresh Meat - started 4-0 would have been 5-0 had the game not been postponed against Troy - We met Florida and they handed us a good ole SEC A$$ whooping and it was doomsday from that point on, even though we still played Bama Great! '09 - We were seasoned meat - started 5-0, played a damn good defensive game against Tebow & Company...but didn’t have the extra weapons (3 tails backs, 3 great wr's, much better pass rush, and special teams) to pull out the W. Didn’t suffer any hangover losses and moved on to Give Alabama all they could ask for, after their bye week, at their house, and lost some key players(JJ, CS, PP) to help give them enough to escape with a W '10 - We are seasoned meat slightly grilled, given what I said above, worst case scenario, JJ is as good as he was last year, do we have what it takes to go down to the swamp and pick up the W putting this team at 6-0 for the 1st time since the '07 championship campaign, & carry that momentum into Auburn, then bye week and back home for Bama and the real meat & potatoes of this schedule? UF is not looking so hot themselves right now.
We aren't going to lose to WV, Tennessee, or Florida. We don't drop 3 in a row to anyone. Or at least haven't since the 90's i don't think.
The Florida game is a long way away. I don't think you can just assume we get past Miss State, UWV, or Tenn. I think we have a slight advantage of each of them but they are certainly not sure wins.
The only game in the near future that I find worrisome is the WV game. I know the almost lost to Marshall and blew out some chump the week before, but we've never played them before, whereas we've played Miss St and Tenn. Also, they survived an OT game, and we haven't yet. I think they can bounce back if allowed to hang around. We are now two games into the season. UNC came back and almost beat us. We didn't start really clicking until the fourth quarter against Vandy. If we don't fall prey to the "Oh, it's just West Virginia" banter, I know we can beat them. Otherwise, I expect a real close game decided on the last play.
you are right, you can't look past them, but what kind of LSU Tiger would i be if i didn't think we will win every game.
Do you think we start 6-0 or 5-1 I am being an a$$ and assuming we start 5-0 and go into the swamp to meet the fun haters (Florida)
Yeah it took me a couple a reads to figure that out too. You can't make us think so hard in the morning. :thumb:
