I was driving home from New Orleans when this happened. Listening to MSNBC & other news it seems the consensus is that Trump made the correct move. It was seen as a warning to Putin and Assad but not an escalation out of proportion. People like Barry's ambassador to Moscow and a broad range of military to Adam Shift D-CA (he of house intelligence committee fame) were all complimentary much to Rachel Maddox's chagrin. Both Shift and McCaul the former ambassador fairly dripped with contempt at Barry's previous pusillanimous position. It is a hopeful sign along with Bannon's eviction that President Trump is finally coming to grips with his responsibility at least in foreign affairs. The situation in the Middle East is just about at the ninth circle of hell so no one will likely come out well. We have a long dark road ahead there and only strength and resolve will see us through. As W learned and apparently HRC didn't just starting a war isn't enough. We can't make others change we can only show them a better path and hope they take it.
Good move politically, too. Get Americans on same page with a common enemy. Well, many pussy liberals will be hoping for this to be a bad thing. Regardless, overall I expect majority of Americans to forget about Rep/Dem for a spell.
In hindsight, that may have been the best move in our own interests. Saddam brutally oppressed all opposition but once he was gone the numerous radical Islamic groups had a free reign to fight for power among themselves. Result: ISIS
History has shown cruise missiles without a large ground and aerial assault accomplish jack shit. As far as the military getting rid of Assad it's not like they would survive that purge either so I don't think it's in their best interest for regime change either. They are all in the same group with Putin. Obama/Kerry/Rice told us the weapons were GONE! Rice said it two months ago as she was crowing about their accomplishments. Explain to me who got hurt with this attack? Just a few days after Trump said Assad is around to stay, so deal with it....no weapons and suddenly a shitty little attack on civilians that posed no threat but were media friendly deaths that forced this action. Look Assad was setup. Chemical weapons...you mean like the ones that we never found in Iraq? They are all over the place. Israel fears the groups in Lebanon have a stockpile. The place is a fucking nightmare....and what's even better if they are SYRIAN weapons, good Lord, this was the same group of idiots that made the Iran deal. So we're really in deep shit.
