I'm just saying all the shit on this board sounds like it comes straight out of the mouth of Sean Hannity. This President could shit a brick of gold 99 percent of this board would be pissed because it wasn't big enough or it wasn't platinum. I think he sucks too but damn he ain't nearly as bad as y'all make him out to be.

    Based on what data?

Have you bothered to research what they actually did?

They would have eventually been released which is why the trade for Bergdahl was stupid. It did nothing but give them the advantage, moral and otherwise.

Nonsense. They weren't even "holding" him when he was free to shop outside the Haqqani compound without a guard. We have the technology to take out Haqqani operatives when and where we want.

We offered them money in the early negotiations after Bergdahl first deserted. And of course we give them money. "The U.S. is offering $10M for information leading to the capture of the Taliban's leader, Mullah Omar, through the State Department’s Rewards for Justice program, an effort designed to “fight against international terrorism.” Who is going to turn in a terrorist, other than another terrorist?

Laughable. " White House National Security Council spokesperson Caitlin Hayden noted that the Taliban was added to the list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGT) by executive order in July 2002, even if it is not listed as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) by the State Department. Either designation triggers asset freezes, according to the State Department, though they can differ on other restrictions imposed on the target organization. The Treasury Department told ABC News the Taliban is still on their SDGT list....The National Counterterrorism Center also lists “Taliban Presence in Afghanistan” on its global map of “Terrorist Groups....Though the State Department has not designated the Afghan Taliban as an FTO, it has designated the group’s sister network, the Pakistani Taliban, as well as the Haqqani Network, a group closely associated with the Taliban that was believed to have been actually holding Bergdahl for most of his captivity. Hayden told ABC News the U.S. “did not negotiate with the Haqqanis” for Bergdahl."

So Haqqani=Taliban but you want to attack and destroy a non-terrorist group?

You know more about Sean Hannity than I could forget. I do not watch his show. Years ago I decided he was an arrogant blowhard who believed in his own credentials a little too much. Paired with that pencil dick Alan whatever, the show was a colossal waste of time.

There is a lot of bad shit coming out of Washington these days. From Benghazi, to the shame that is the VA, to Iraq, to Bergdahl, to missing e-mails courtesy of Lois Lerner, gas prices, the lowered forecast for economic growth....you name it, it's pretty bad at the moment and the next contender is gearing up to take the wheel.

You think Dubya had a smooth ride his last few years? It wasn't even close. Every little thing he did, every facial expression, every word was fodder for the left. Where were they when Americans were burning effigies of him? Obama has spent his entire time in Office blaming Bush for every bad thing he's had to "deal with". It's time to own his Presidency and deal with his choices and decisions. Mostly I think he brought on a bunch of idiots to help him run the government.

The more that the Army declines to talk about the guy's medical issues, it is increasingly suggestive that he is mentally ill. Perhaps severely so. There should shave been an ODPMC discharge years ago. After five years in Talibania he is probably full-tilt whackadoo.

Obama inherited Bush two unfinished wars and the worst financial collapse in 70 years. Did you expect him to take the blame for that? Bush owns that and everybody blames him including you. When exactly has Obama blamed Bush for something that happened on Obama's watch?

They do not have a history of killing Americans until our military invaded their country? They have spent ten years away from home and five years in Gitmo. They are now reunited with their families in another country recovering. They have no idea of what Afghanistan is even like now. That paints the scenario of them suddenly moving to Afghanistan with the intent to kill Americans as "unlikely". There are no signs that point to them being motivated otherwise.

Even if there were, we don't condemn people because they "might" one day do something. Yeah, they 'might'. Also, they 'might not'. It doesn't really matter because they were going to be released eventually anyway.

Yes, and by "research" I don't mean tune in to Fox News of browse Facebook.

So you're saying that the smart move would have been to release them eventually and not get our soldier back?

Specifically what is this advantage and over whom?

Where is he going to go? He's in the middle of Militant Islamic Pakistan. He's white. He can't go anywhere. Just because you're wandering around the compound (you know, like they do in Gitmo) doesn't make you not a captive.

I would turn them in for $10 million and I'm not a terrorist. Do you just assume every brown Muslim in Pakistan is a terrorist?

I don't know what all of that is that you copied and pasted, but here is the link to the State Department's list of terrorist organizations. Get back to me when you find the Afghan Taliban on it.

    Haqqani ≠ Taliban

Just imagine if Obama invited the Taliban to the White House like Reagan did. Man...

Well then I apologize for being general. I'm just saying this board sounds like Fox. People say I sound like msnbc but I don't suck this presidents big black cock at every turn, I just don't see the point in blowing my top and trying to make everything a scandal. And I don't recall house democrats holding a meeting and saying that their only job was to thwart the president at every turn. I recall democrats working with that douche until the world started to realize he sent us to war over a bunch of fabricated bullshit. Hell even Pat Robertson, Pat fucking Robertson blasted Bush for Iraq's current state. Holy shit I couldn't believe that. Anyway. I don't like Obama, I'm sure it's not for the same reasons as most here, but just think if McCain was president or even worse Romney. But then again, maybe that would have been my motivation to finally move to Canada.
