That isn't punishment LaSalle that was a self inflicted consequence of his action. Punishment is meted by a duly convened authority after a hearing/trial dependent on the nature of the offense. In this case the Military under the UCMJ. The one positive that could come of this is that he is put on trial and he is either convicted or exonerated of any charges.
