Where is the evidence? And what about these reports that have said Bergdahl had left and returned numerous times. I've read other reports that have said this unit wasn't the greatest unit when it came to following the rules. My point is if we find out that he was in fact a deserter, then throw his ass up in front of the firing squad for all I care. But can't we at least wait until all the evidence is out?
I'm just not the type of guy who shoots first and asks questions later. I'd like to form my opinions based on all the facts. But hey, y'all crucify the dude, I'm sure Sean Hannity would even open up a spot on his show for ya.
You've made yourself very clear. But try to understand, no matter what you personally think of this dumbfuck, he is still an American citizen and a US soldier and the law applies to him. It's our way. He is definitely an AWOL, probably a deserter, and possibly a turncoat. And now, he is going to be answering for his actions. I got no problems with that.
KSM is a one-off exception so he shouldn't be used as the benchmark and I suspect they knew we wouldn't give that ONE. So now they are unrepentant, militant, and dangerous....didn't you say earlier they were a bunch of old farts who wouldn't be doing much other than fighting other Afghans? He was never my boss but in my book because of his self-serving participation in actively covering up the Tillman friendly fire case, I can't take his comments about Bergdahl with much seriousness. Let's review the actual soldier's creed.... "I am an American Soldier. I am a warrior and a member of a team. I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values. I will always place the mission first. I will never accept defeat. I will never quit. I will never leave a fallen comrade. I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills. I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself. I am an expert and I am a professional. I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat. I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life. I am an American Soldier." Exactly how many of those did Bergdahl uphold? For Obama to select one line which is specific to the battlefield and try to claim it as reasoning is a facking insult. Spin, spin, spin. He signed the facking law. He knew it's limitations. The CiC has now said he is unapologetic. How does that play to the families of the 6-8 soldiers who died looking for Bergdahl after Obama was hugging this in the Rose Garden? And this wasn't about notifying Congress about negotiations. It's about the release of gitmo terrorists. Details. The devil is in them. And as CiC, how is Obama's attitude playing with our troops? So far, it doesn't look so good. The Taliban threatened to kill Bergdahl....wow....shocking. It was a bluff for a useless captive.
You will likely never get all the facts. The US gov't is expert at purposeful misinformation. Sometimes we have to draw conclusions based on what is available and what makes sense based on our experiences. Your biases are off-base at times. I don't watch Fox and I don't like Sean Hannity. I don't give a shit what he thinks.
What other evidence do you need? How else did he get there? Did the Taliban come like thieves in the night and just take this guy? Leave his weapon, ammo, nvg's, maps? They just grab some PFC? Come on bro you are better than that. Did you watch the video on the link I posted?
Goat herder suit.....lol. Here's an example of how media can spin stories for maximum emotional manipulation....I watched an ABC report on Bergdahl's exchange and the reporter mentioned that when he realized he was with spec forces, he cried....and she added that he "cried because he was so happy and relieved". Really? Do we know that's the reason? Maybe he cried because he knew he was in deep shit. Maybe he cried because his goat herder boyfriend was left behind. Maybe he cried because he had gas pain.
Maybe he cried cause it only looked like the operator had his arm around him when he really had a pressure point locked in. Damn those hurt like hell
Or the operator whispered, "welcome home sunshine...your ass hasn't seen it's finest hour yet." Little nod to Churchill.
