That keeps ringing in my head. :bncry: 4th and 10, for the game, and we BLOW a coverage, and leave a guy wide open. Championship teams don't let that happen. Not at home, not on most of their last game in Death Valley, and not to keep hope alive. We are battered and bruised. We have played with fire all year long...and we got burned again...in triple overtime again.

I blame a lot of it on the SEC being so hard to get out of alive, but somewhere we have to man up and put games away. I have no idea what to say, or what to do. I can't watch sports center for months now.

I say that next year, it will be even harder. Us, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, and Tennessee will probably be some of the best teams in the league again...and we will beat each other out of the running AGAIN, and some jackleg team like W. Vagina will end up holding up the trophy. Playing in the SEC is good for "braggin' rights", but it doesn't help you fill up the trophy case. WE NEED A PLAYOFF!!!!!!!!!!

I feel your pain on this one. I was yelling "One more and you've pulled it out" and stuff like that. I really, really thought they would come through on that play.....I sorta felt like it would end badly when we didn't stop
'em right there on 4th and 10. :eek:ldskule:

Somebody, anybody on defense just make a play.

I must have repeated that a thousand times through every OT.

I was thinking maybe force a fumble cause they weren't throwing the football...We weren't gonna make an INT...I just saw the replay and Tyson Jackson was rushing the hell out of the QB...How in the hell a fullback gets so far away from a DB????

You have a mediocre QB who doesn't throw the ball a whole lot and you don't force his hand on a blitz? If it was 4th and 5, then I say don't blitz since they can throw a quick slant to beat it. But on 4th and 10, that's a pretty good ways to go, takes time for a play to develop. A corner of safety blitz was the obvious call and boy oh boy how disgusting to lose this game cuz we were simply too timid. Not the way to go out. That's what hurts the most.

This is the only thing that really haunts me still. If there was one play I could have back in this entire game it would be that one. I truly feel if we bring a little heat on that play we win. I'm not so sure it was blown coverage. A DB can stay with his man only so long. The QB had all night to throw on that play and the receiver worked himself wide open.

Even in the Tiger Band they used to tell us to play boldly, and if you make a mistake, make a bold mistake. I can forgive a mistake when you're trying to make a play, but not trying to make a play seems....well...lame and tame. And we all saw how that turned out. :eek:ldskule:

Posted earlier. It's 4th and 10 and we send 4 men and drop 7, but we forget one. A 240 pound FB?

I cannot remember if we blitzed on obvious passing downs.

I do know when we had to pass on the 2 pt goal they sent every thing but the kitchen sink! Coaching was the difference tonight. I put alot of tonight's loss on Pelini. Weak game plan against a one dimensional team.

I agree totally. C. Dick is not the greatest QB and you force him to make a quick decision by blitzing him. Even the announcers said he was open for 5 seconds. Any QB can beat you if he has 5 seconds to throw. You have to force his hand at least if he beats you with a ton of pressure in his face he earned it against you with your best shot not some timid Big 10 soft coverage BS.
