Saints have essentially a 3 game lead over both Arizona and the 49ers, even if the 49ers win. We have tie breakers over both. Add on the fact that Arizona and the 49ers still have to play each other, that's a guaranteed 5th loss for one of them. So the Saints are 2 wins away from a guaranteed wildcard spot. Most likely we only need to win 1 more to get in. But of course we have bigger fish to fry. Beat a Seattle team that has lost it's 2nd and 3rd best CB and get that #1 seed. Crazy to think if the Saints beat Seattle and then Carolina the next week, coupled with Seattle losing at San Francisco the next week, that the #1 seed is all but sewn up.
We still have a very brutal schedule left. Even though a couple of the teams (TB and STL) have poor records, every single team we play have aggressive, very physical defenses. We proved against the 49ers that we can play that style and win, but I'm mostly concerned with attrition. Having to play that style for 6 consecutive is going to take a toll. Obviously, every team goes through the same thing, but the style of defense each of these teams play usually gives us fits.
Yep, and he gets worse w/every hit he takes. He's getting pounded. That alone will predict a short NFL stint for him. He needs to seriously think about a different career.
