Miller and family were notified on Tuesday evening, January 10th. The Millers contacted Auburn via his hs coach on Wednesday. The news broke Thursday (yesterday) WADR, the lines of communication were never the issue. The timing was the issue and it was definitely a surprise for the Millers.
Sure hate it did not work out for the Miller's to be a real TIGER but I wish this kid nothing but the best. I hope he is a great OL for AU except when playing LSU:thumb:
In the world of Recruiting the out of state kid will get shafted before the in state recruit most of the time. Logic behind it is you recruit in the in state schools more often.
They were surprised but remember we didn't know exactly who was going to be an EE until we talked to everyone. Had to tell one of the 7 what was up when the staff had all the pieces of the puzzle.
Follow recruiting, it happens more than people know. You have to make the numbers work. Its tough, kids will say they are coming then backout, a staff wants to sign all that they can each year. You have to.
Especially this year and here on out with the 25 cap. If you have a guy sitting on the ropes and may not get cleared you are just going to have one less roster spot filled.
Either they plan to greyshirt two or have 2 who are JUCOs enrolling early which is only a rule that will be allowed this class. The Juco rule is suppossed to be phased out this year. Or they have 2 guys on the commit list they don't expect to have the grades to qualify. Or a 2 of these 3 options.
