I wish but this is gumpland and Birmingham. By the start of spring training it will be wiped clean, I mean fixed, I mean forgotten and by the start of next season those who are needed will be choir boys all showing the great character that Nicky always recruits.
Bama? That relatively new implemented rule is known by other conferences' fans as "The SEC Rule." We. as a conference, wrote the book on oversigning.
This is nuts. Could you imagine a gang of LSU football players who were among our highest-profile recruits going around campus in an SUV jumping and robbing LSU students? I think were told during the recruiting process, anything in Tuscaloosa you want, it's yours, so naturally they were just taking what was promised.
I may be in the minority here and believe me I'm no Saban fan, but I think he comes down hard on these guys. He's won 3 of the last 4 BCS and has nothing to prove to anyone. He can't let a few bad apples bring down the dynasty he has created and makes an example out of them. That's just my opinion and I could definitely be wrong. However they have recruited great classes one after another and shouldn't be hurt too bad if he nails them to the cross. He runs a bigger risk by letting them slide than he does by making an example out of them. Again, just my opinion and it doesn't take his ego into account.
