North Vietnam was content to occupy the south. That was the extent of their spoils of "victory". Abandoning Afghanistan is a whole 'nother kettle of fish. The Taliban and al qaeda won't leave it at that. The want us all dead and the only way to stop them is to kill them first. Pulling out now only strengthens their resolve, their numbers and their area of operation.
And their threat is what? No Army, No Navy, No Air Force We are talking about people in the sand with guns. Oooooh I'm scared. If they want to kill everyone and their mama in that area then by all means go ahead. It's not my problem. And you won't ever "kill them first". And as far as I'm concerned that is almost genocide talk.
Are you in a coma now thinking what we are doing is not inciting more hatred? Our foreign policies are terrible. Maybe you and SF should read some of the commission reports by the CIA.
If you think the ragheads are a threat only to other ragheads, you are dumber than I thought you were. And that's pretty GD dumb.
You might be dumb enough to think a group of people with no Army, Navy, or Air Force is a threat to the USA.
