Auburn's football players received 3 rings for last football season's championships. One for the BCS, One for the SEC and one for the AP. Is this normal.
Well they figured most of them will be vacated at some point and that the AP will allow them to keep theirs so this way as each gets vacated they have 1 chance in 3 to have one stick.
Well, they made national championship rings for 2004 . . . and they weren't even in the championship game! They should have been, for damn sure, but I thought that was bad form.
Yes it is normal. LSU gave the 2003 championship team, a National Championship ring, a BCS Championship Ring, and a SEC Championship Ring. Of course, they didn't get the AP but who really cares about that one.
correct. As I understand it, the BCS Bowl awards one, the school awards one for the NCAA accomplishment, and the athletic department awards one for the conference championship. Each is bound within a specific spending limit in accordance with NCAA guidelines. (no, the "diamonds" aren't real)
