LMAO! In all seriousness, though...we've seen the SEC represent for the past two years straight. Other than 2004, we can't complain too much about getting snubbed.
Oh, I know, just being a bit of a smartass. I do foresee bad things in the future for the SEC, being snubbed out of the BCS title game because of 2 or 3 loss teams that had a grueling season playing the nation's elite week in and week out. I think most of us agree that a 2 loss LSU, UT, FL, pick one here, is heads and shoulders above an undefeated Pitt or Kansas. My response was more or less me wanting to get the chant for a playoff system started in July.
LOL, I wholeheartedly agree. Take this year for example...Oklahoma might walk into the Championship game undefeated on the basis of their schedule alone. They may be good, but they will not have faced the fire of Auburn, Florida, and Georgia (the latter two aspiring title contenders) in the span of five games, with a sprinkling of bowl teams in between. Last year showed that a two-loss SEC team was worth a one-loss Big Ten team and then some. If they can work out a plus one, I'll be happy. But I don't think I'm quite ready to talk about playoffs just yet. I'll get sick of it by mid October if we crank it up now.
Probably not based on where we were picked preseason and where we finished. With the unusual number of injuries on the DL someone had to make some plays on offense. Didn't the offense set a new scoring record? Flynn wasn't spectacular but he moved the chains and put us in the endzone. If the new defensive staff is equal to the task and our return game ever recovers, I expect to be in the top three in the SEC every year. That usually means a ten win season. Miles continues to recruit at a level unprecedented at LSU. Someone posted a recruiting rating for the last several years. If I remember correctly, the teams that made the top five had won the last six National Championships with LSU winning two. Prior to Saban I didn't expect to see another MNC in my lifetime. Now with Miles it doesn't seem impossible that I may see a few more.
I agree with this because there is one thing Miles and Aleva can not control. The other programs in the SEC will get better. No one is sitting on their hands.
after all the close losses we suffered in the 90's,we are still owed.To balance it all out we need to win all the close ones for the next decade, not just 4 of 6 like last year. Not to mention the 2 times this decade we have gotten hosed at Auburn which ought to count double. Obviously, this is just my opinion through my purple and gold glasses, which are unbiased.
You know, you can flip a dime 99 times and have it land on heads 99 times. Know what the chances are of the 100th flip landing on tails? 50-50, same as every other toss.
You mean Flynn wasn't overrated, I assume. Flynn performed about as I expected - admirably, but no first round pick. Many people thought he was better than JaMarcus & would be a first day pick.
