So what do you guys think:

In the next 3-5 years, do you guys see our Tigers realistically accomplishing:

    1.) Another National Championship???
    2.) SEC Championship(s) ???
    3.) 10+ Win seasons???
4.) Or does the program simmer down a little into the 8-9 win range???

    Your thoughts???

Are you talking about averages or the best of the next 3-5 years?

Average, I'd say no worse than 9 win seasons. 2009's recruiting class will be the best LSU has ever had. We will have more talent than any other team in the SEC over a range of positions starting in the 2010 season and continuing through at least 2012. If Alleva doesn't cinch the purse and Miles keeps quality coaches around to develop all that talent, I see at least a couple more SEC Championship Seasons and at least one more shot at a National Title...especially if by some miracle a plus-one is implemented by then.

It's a great time for Tiger Football. It is the Tiger era.

LSU is going to have some 9 and 8 win seasons, get used to it.

I suppose if Florida can lose 4 games following a NC, we could to. But I think it has more to do with stability in the program and Les seems to be doing that while overcoming hurdles. We should be able keep the same level of play, taking into consideration that bama, ark, and ol miss will continue to get better. As long as Miles stays here, we should be in the thick of things for years to come.

For the next 3-5 years, we should have more ten win seasons than not, win a least one more SECC, but the NC has so many variables. Also too many good teams every year to assume we will win another one. We have been very fortunate so far.

Simmering down?... No. Middle of the pack?... Not gonna happen.
LSU will play for more championships the next few years, they will be in BCS bowls, and they will also have some years that they win 9 games. Its a tough conference, but steel sharpens steel, so I can live with that!

I'd be very pleased with this in the next 5 years given the SEC competition

    4 SEC West Champs
    2 SEC Champs
    3 BCS Bowls
    1 BCS Championship

In all reality you can shave one off of each of those and still have a DAMN STRONG football team

With the recruiting that CLM and company have been doing, I think that LSU will probably win one more BCS National Championship within said timeframe. I am saying that, not as a biased LSU fan, but as an educated guess gauged on the talent that we have rolling through here.

I tend to agree with ya Red.
For the last 3 seasons...we've basically been 11-2.
Now that is a great record, but every season's success really comes down to a couple plays. We could have easily been an 8 win team for the last three years. All it takes is a couple plays to go either way. They have been more our way and I could see us dropping off a little even with teams of such talent.

But thats where your difference makers come in. (See Byrd's catch against AU) With LSU consistantly reloading with top talent and developing playmakers you make your own luck!:geaux:

close wins usually balance out over the long term (unfortunately)

Red's right, we'll have some 8&9 win seasons. We'll have some 10+ ones in there too! :thumb:
