    I am not particularly worried about any article.

    The fact is that sanders/trump protectionism is awful for the global economy.

    Exactly! It's amazing how so many on the far right constantly mention the golden years under Reagan and how everything was great. Just so happens that was before NAFTA and the lopsided trade deals with China. The US economy was just fine without poorly made crap from third world countries and with a strong manufacturing sector in the US.

    A little bit of immediate pain for fundamental repairs to our economy; I'd buy that for a dollar.

    Protectionism entails forcing Americans to pay more for their things, and forcing foreigners to pay more to buy the products we want to sell them.

    Not importing things at the expense of the environment and exploited Chinese workers, nor at the expense of the US middle class. Check. Theoretical economics doesn't give af about the US middle class.
