2nd half offensive effort against Alabama was a fluke

As an exercise ask yourself who we played last night. As a second exercise ask yourself if we can count on 5 take aways and a shut out in every game we play? Sooner or later you might need an offense. Remember this is just an exercise.

But there are no perfect teams. Every team in the top-10 has known flaws by this time in the season. There are plenty out there who think that any imperfection in a LSU team is a catastrophe. It seems awfully chintzy in a damn strong Top-5, double-digit, BCS-bowl season.

At least they've stooped talking about LSU's "downward spiral".

Well, they do lead the SEC in INT's thrown, and we do lead the SEC in INT's made ... So, the chances are good we get a few on them.

I just don't see the need to complain about our offense in a game where the defense scored twice and gave us a short field all night. It's called cause and effect.

I'm not suggesting we get 5 takeaways against Arkansas, but the fact still remains, a great defense is the best offense.

THIS RIGHT HERE is your (and many others') biggest problem. You are absolutely correct. Sooner or later we MIGHT need an offense. So far we haven't needed more of an offense then we have (I maintain that the defense lost the Auburn game). I say it's a problem for you because that mentality keeps you from completely enjoying what's happening this season. The fact is that we don't, and won't, have much of an offense this year but to the entire teams' credit, it doesn't matter. We win anyway. We are better than just about every other team in the country but you can't let that one deficiency go. It eats at you and makes you want to blame someone for our being just short of absolute perfection. It's like being married to a kind, beautiful, loving woman but you can't get past the fact that her tits aren't big enough.

You're a confused individual. I have thoroughly enjoyed the entire season and haven't missed a home game yet. It's been a really really good year as the record indicates. The difference between you and I is that I am not blind nor am I afraid to talk about what I actually see with my own eyes.

Just because I say LSU has a horrible offense loaded with talent doesn't mean I do not enjoy the games or the season. I don't have to lie to myself or others in order to enjoy the games, that's your MO. I go, enjoy and root for my team. Then I come here to discuss what I see and think, just like most others. The fact that I am able to criticize what I see as poor offensive play and the reasons for it has nothing to do with my enjoyment of the games or the season. I don't understand your obsession with controlling what others think and how they discuss everything LSU. And the tits at my house are just fine and quite big, but thanks for your concern.:popcorn:

What continues to amaze me is that some, like Doc, hate Miles, Crowton and LSU so much, they can’t wait to go negative at every turn. This thread wasn’t a question “Was our second half offense last week a fluke?” That would be something for legitimate discussion.

No, Doc immediately goes negative at the half, with LSU up 23 -0 with a negative statement – the title of this thread. Doc gives himself away with that title.
He is not an LSU fan, he hates our coach, our assistant coaches, he thinks our offensive players are no good. If he were a fan, he would have questions – if he were knowledgeable he might have some constructive criticism.

No, not Doc, all he has is negative statements of assumed fact. He lives to find fault in everything the LSU offensive players and coaches do. He is one sad fellow and sadly for us all, he is not alone on this board.

I have stated many times here and elsewhere that our offense is putrid. I am not lying to myself. I am not trying to control what you and others think. I am giving you my observations. I have no clue about the tits at your house but I can help out if you need a definition of analogy.

Personally, I believe throwing on 3rd and two is good to me when we are playing ULM - Why absurd? Working on things and give qb confidence, why run and take a chance of not making it so another thread could be started about how much the play calling sucks? 51-0 - Work on things you need to in this type of game, it's kinda proactive. Also, I'm sure there was a game plan in place but when you start in the opponents territory every time they probably had to scratch a third of their plays. Yes, believe it or not, the offensive game plan was probably scratched and they started working on things they needed to improve on during this game. Unfortunately, not pretty but might help them in the next few weeks.

I would say that a lackluster offensive performance against ULM is fine with me. Hopefully, they have a few more things to work on next week and when they are in the red zone they now have a better understanding what they can and can't do offensively in that situation. I guess y'all would feel better if we started on our own 20 and had 500 yards of offense and won 51-0 but I don't look at it like that. Yes, our offense didn't look good, but I think that was probably more due to the circumstance than qb's and play calling. I think Allen Iverson said it best - "it's called practice man"

My personal opinion is that it was more of LSU working on different things then trying to score 83 points.

As far as the title of the thread - I don't agree, but if it was a fluke and we continue to win defensively, I'm good...
