Either that, or they played quarters. :)

Maybe. But they certainly didn't play four quarters on the field.

    Rumor

There are more than several rumors that there was a fight in the locker room pre-game that involved JJ and Hebert.

I would really like to know what happened to them over those 37 days. But, I feared that this would happen to our players. This reminded me off Super Bowl 42. The Patriots were 18-0 and were being hailed as the greatest football team of all time. Brady was being called the greatest QB of all time and Bill was being called Vince Lombardi 2.0. They had already beat the Giants during the regular season and were cruising through the playoffs. They came off as entitled. Almost like they didn't have to worry about the Giants. And the Giants had the chip on their shoulder and everything to prove. They had more fire power and came with a better gameplan. And they won the game but anyone who watched it, knew that it wasn't that close. That's what happened Monday night. Our LSU players heard all month long about how great they were and that they could become the greatest team of all time. They didn't feel the need to be fired up. They were 13-0, SEC Champions, and they completed one of the greatest college football seasons in history. Alabama on the other hand had to prove that Nov. 5th was a fluke and that they were the better team. They had all the emotion and LSU didn't. They lost the game before they even snapped the ball.

You were seeing the all-too-human psychological barrier to beating an opponent twice in the same season. It is hard to do--on any stage, let alone the biggest stage in all of CFB!

I felt the same way, not daring to give voice to it in the run-up to the actual game. Your summation is spot-on.
