Now that we have 23 commitments and can only have two more to be limited out.......Who are the last two? Is there any commitments that are soft and may be switching? What about prefered walk-ons???
I posted this yesterday in another thread: http://www.tigerforums.com/lsu-recruiting/81779-2010-prospect-watch-offers-page-15.html
what Im hoping is that he committed to AU so early cause he didnt feel LSU would take him. kid has EXPLODED in his senior year and all of a sudden shows interest in LSU...and likewise with Chevis. dunno...I think we hear something quick on this one because of the numbers game. kid doenst have long to pull the trigger if he does want to be a Tiger.
He knew LSU would take him before he committed to LSU. Chavis made sure of that. Owens it not somebody who just exploded on the scene, he has been considered a hot commodity during his Soph year. He mentioned that LSU was on him hard few days before he committed in a Scout article and even some AU fans said that if anyone got him besides AU it would be LSU. I agree though that there is a possibility because I do remember him saying something about the pressure of being a legacy and wanting to do what was best for his career. Then he commits 2 days later. I applaud Chavis for not giving up any ground and sticking on him after his commitment.
I was just reading that: Owens' uncle was the first African-American football player ever at Auburn, and he grew up in an Auburn family LaDarius Owens MakingNews - Roll 'Bama Roll The guy lives between Alabama (45 miles to the west) and Auburn (147 miles to the east) and has offers to both. In fact, that above article points out that: the general hope for the Tide...is that we can just delay his decision for as long as possible, and hope to grab him at the very end...To be sure, Owens has visited Tuscaloosa unofficially about nine times (literally) ... However, after taking another trip to Auburn this weekend, Owens worked out in Tuscaloosa at the UA camp the past couple of days with Alabama linebackers coach Sal Sunseri, and suddenly he is singing a completely different tune. He says that Alabama has risen dramatically with him
Relativity. Is Bama rising? Or is Auburn falling? Unfortunately for the WarPlainsTigerEagleMen, I think it's the latter - with a few recruits. Smack talk and hotties at a party don't work in a vaccum of excellence.
