Technically the way it is worded, LSU was behind at "some point" in the 4th quarter, not necessarily to start the quarter. LSU has been in so many tough and tight SEC tilts in the Les Miles era. Lead changes in the 4th quarter. A more important stat would be the record when LSU was within 1 score of the lead (but behind) going into the 4th. We have had only 6 games that we were out of it by the time the 4th quarter started since 2005 (GA 05, FL 06, FL GA OM 08, AL 11). To take it a step further, LSU has only been behind by more than 2 scores going into the 4th quarter TWICE in 120 games during the Les Miles era. And one of those, we were behind by 17, the other 20.
LSU has had the depth and the strength & conditioning to be an effective 4th-quarter team when others sometimes get gassed. This is a good thing, whether we are behind or not.
Technically arguments could be made for those games in 2008, and the 2012 championship game. That Georgia game was a lot closer than the scoreboard let on, the Florida game only got away in the 4th, as did the 2012 championship game. 06 Florida were we blown out in that game? I thought that was the Jamarcus fumble at the goal line game.
Yeah you're right the 1st one was the first score. But those 2 pick sixes were the game. 52-38 final score, 2 pick sixes. Lee threw for 287 and 3 TD's..... And 3 interceptions...2 that were scored by Georgia's d.
I would tend to agree with this a bit more, LSU had no answer whatsoever on D (of course that could be said for the entire season).
They didn't have an answer on defense because offensive players aren't supposed to tackle Unless you are an Auburn or Alabama offensive lineman that is.
