Not talking about the Saints, talking about Miami or Cincinnati! They can trade that #1 pick for who knows what? Sure having a great QB works but if they can trade the pick for a basket of 1st and 2nd rounders it sweetens the pot. That keeps Joe off of a team that sucks!
Williams hinted on social media recently that he will be "committing" soon. The quotes are not his, but the word and variations of "commit" mean shit as of late.
At this point I'm going to be extremely disappointed if LSU can't constantly nab 5 star or high 4 star QBs.
5 star QB stud Vandagriff just committed to Georgia. That's huge news, as some think the battle for Williams was largely between Georgia and LSU.
True. But I still wonder what in the hell Kirby is selling these recruits to get them to come. “Come dominate the SEC east before bowing to the SEC west and lamenting our failure to make the playoff.”
Makes one wonder, no doubt. If you don't count Shepard and you shouldn't, Ryan P. is the only five-star quarterback LSU has ever recruited since the start of the recruiting rankings era. The quarterbacks we end up pulling are always between around 8th to 15th best. And then consider the QBs are separated by pro-style and dual-threat and then that ranking gets even worse overall.
I would have sworn Jamarcus Russell was, but nope, just outside. There were 33 five-stars that year, and he was 38th overall.
In general? Top notch training facilities, top notch nutrition facilities, located in a hotbed of talent, in a relatively small but "cool" college town, and some of the best bagmen/local dealerships in the business. Vandagriff specifically? He was/is a rebellious teenager who became a UGA fan to spite his mother/father (auburn fan and tennessee fan respectively). I wouldn't be at all surprised if he dropped the OU commit when Kirby told him that Coley wouldn't be the OC next year/they were going to go to the spread. And speaking of, watch out for UGA next year. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they do what we did this year next year. That defense is stacked, and with the kind of talent they have there's no reason why the spread won't kill it offensively.
