This past SB had the lowest TV ratings in 10 years. People are getting sick of the same old shit. 13-3? So exciting...
Do you expect a nail biting finish to the end every time you watch a game? Except for the Super Bowl, if I'm watching a game that gets out of hand, I switch to another game.
Nope. However, this past SB had the lowest ratings in 10 years. What does that mean? A large amount of football watchers didn’t tune in. I wonder why? Perhaps because the Saints got screwed. 13-3 was the result you got from the Patriots/Rams game. Imagine what would have happened if it was a Patriots/Saints game. The end result is that people aren’t tuning in as much anymore. There are too many other options now to watch. Football can not afford to become stale, because there’s Stranger Things that can be watched instead, and a hundred other shows that are more exciting than Bama/Clemson (again) and Patriots/boring team
Maybe cuz it was in Hotlanta. Nobody thinks of Atlanta as a winter getaway. The atrocious halftime shows do them no favor either.
Super Bowl LIII had the lowest linear viewership of any Super Bowl since 2008. The low-scoring matchup between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams on CBS averaged approximately 98.2 million viewers on CBS alone. That is just below the 98.7 viewers drawn in 2009 and slightly above the 97.5 million in 2008. That is a decline of approximately 5% from the 2018 Super Bowl, which drew 103.4 million.
