Imagine LSU leaving the SEC for... perhaps the Big 12. Would we have more success? What's more important: getting more W's or the historic rivalries we currently have. What's more desirable: Being in the SEC and losing to Bama 8 straight times or being in the Big 12 and going 4-4 vs Oklahoma?
SEC teams have won 11 national championships since the BCS era. Way more than any other conference. Could it be that the toughness of the competition prepared the SEC teams for the championship game and now the playoffs? I wouldn't bet against it.
Let's look at that. What conference gives LSU a better standing in collegiate athletics? The ACC? In terms of media rights, LSU would be another Baylor, or TCU, in the Big 12. Do you want your school to be a part of the PAC? Let's go the independent route?
that'd be great, and LSU would be the only Tigers in the Pacific 13 conference,.. you'd need to pick it up on offense though, just sayin
Or, how much you'd enjoy the game if you didn't look for a black helicopter when trying to justify a loss? What kills me, Shane, is all this bullshit about (there's a litany) ... didn't hear a damn thing about any of it when LSU was on their winning streak. You remember, right? LSU had won what...nine of twelve?
