You like numbers? LSU # 6 Vandy # unranked. I will take that number instead of offensive stats any day.

Yes. But we kick more FGs than we need tto so if we want to get critical we can. It’s not pretty.

Which is my point. We had an elite FG kicker. Last year we didn’t. We can’t rely on Kicking FG in the red zone to beat elite teams.

We had an elite FG kicker cause the "Dumb Coonass" that a lot of people here don't like was smart enough to go out and get one of the best that most overlooked.

I’ll take points scored over total offense, whatever that means, any day.

And your recruiting metric incorporates defense and special teams, so there’s a serious confounding variable in that data.

I agree. Red zone offense was severely lacking last year.

I don't think the offensive coaching was flawless. My biggest problem with them being they tended to get too conservative too soon with the lead. But @Kikicaca has a good point when he hammers at us with "new quarterback, banged up line most of the year, run-of-the-mill running backs". I'll add another, very inconsistent WR's which I think was part-personnel, part-coaching. Sullivan is gone, so hopefully his successor will improve that part of the game. New QB has fixed itself with a year's experience, and recruiting has improved the RB's. We'll see if a year's experience helps the line, but I've also hammered home the point that our line has to get stronger. We'll see if all of that combines to make the coaching look better in '19.

That’s fine if you guys want to make excuses for E. It’s not good enough for one of the most talented teams in the country and the salary of our staff.

As a fan, I have the right to expect better. You guys have the right to be satisfied.

No anger here. Just my opinion. LSU can do better than both coaches.

There’s a difference between saying that coaching is huge problem and recognizing that the offense and even the offensive coaching staff has room for improvement. My issue with this board recently is that everyone is so god damn polarized that no one makes rational points anymore. Did our offense do reasonably well this year? Yes. Should it improve based on the talent we have? Yes. Has E done a reasonably good job at OC? Yes. Has he lit the scoreboard on fire? No. But let’s stop acting like our offense is either the 2013 Denver Broncos or the little giants. It’s somewhere in between.

And I don’t mean to single you out; it’s just an opportunity to make this point.

All I am saying is that with the talent we have, E lost us games and couldn’t muster a god damn point in two years VS Bama.

    NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!

    Take it how you want.

I’ll give him a pass the first year since he just got the job mid season. But last year you are right. 0 points against Bama is unsuccessful and partially on E. If he does it again this year and our O Line actually holds up, I’ll be calling for a replacement too.

    Partially? Oh boy.

True. The other half is on Oeaux. He got bent over by Nicky that night.
