Besides the obvious mathematical difference, a greater proportion of field goals indicate an inverse relationship with scoring TDs. The real point is had we not landed an unbelievably reliable kicker from above average distances, Es super high ranked O would fall inline with prev bottom half rankings. And no, I dont consider CT part of the offense. That would be special teams.
It’s almost like there aren’t freshman qbs all over the place lighting teams up. How old is the NC QB w Clemson? And that’s not a knock on Burrow, IMO. O did awesome bringing him in. E obviously thought highly enough to start Burrow over the QB on staff, Brennan. Burrow isn’t perfect, but I don’t blame the lack of passing game on him. I blame E and our receivers coaches, as in multiple mfs, to coach a position group that still fricking sucked. O can get in on that blame too. OL can get some too. It is mind-boggling that our offensive coaching staff, the part of LSU’s game that has been pedestrian for years, the part that O campaigned on, was acquired at a f-ing bargain. I mean, WTF are you doing, O? And people are actually like, “well just give it time”, “it wasn’t THAT bad”, etc? I don’t understand how there isn’t more disappointment that O has continued the legacy of shitty offense.
That’s a pretty sketchy argument in my opinion. Not to mention the fact that you have Tracy can change your decision making. So maybe you kick fewer long FGs and go for it on forth and score more TDs. I don’t think you get to just subtract them. And again, we DID have Tracy, even if he’s not going to stay around. That’s like saying the defense can’t get credit for White’s tackles because he’s gone this year.
White played D. Tracy played STs. I don’t think there is any doubt Tracy impacted our play calling - he made it more conservative. This was far too close to a conservative Miles offense. O is going to choose to stick with E or not, but if the offense sucks again next year it won’t just be E on the hot seat. Hate the idea that we’re still pissing away NCs because our offense barely has a pulse. Good coaches don’t need excuses why their 4 stars aren’t good enough. You must not have wanted Miles fired.
Yes young QB transfer who by the way had no starting experience, had only one fall practice to get to know his team, the plays and be coached by his OC. Yes that guy his name is Joe Burrow maybe you have heard of him.
You jumped the shark, baw. No one is arguing that it doesnt count. Simply estimating influence of an exceptional kicker (that E has nothing to do with) and once in lifetime OT series then removing them as statistical outliers. Result, typical bottom-half LSU rankings. Step 1: Knock the FGs down to last 17s. Step 2: Knock the gimme ATM TD OTs off. Step 3: Redo the math and get back to us on rank.
