Understand, but why tweet mere considerations when you are not sure? I'm with twisted in that it could be gump talk just to steer other recruits away leaving us with an unfavorable LB haul. Could be all or none with wreckless talk like that this close to hat day. I'd prefer he said nothing at all. We'll see I guess.
Not very often you come across a recruit that doesn't tweet back and forth as they are going back and forth. But if what he told 247 tonight is true and he is shutting it down for good then he did us a favor on our other targets and a last minute switch would also help us keep guys we had committed. So it works both ways. If he is for sure made up his mind then he let everyone know right before he will be unavailable to talk to any LSU or Bama coaches face to face given he will be occupied at an All-star game all the way up to the start of the dead period. BTW he created that tweeted picture of LSU while he was stuck in the ATL airport for almost a full 24 hours trying to get home with his family from his Bama trip. Parents missed work on Monday too.
On to Phillips...he may be my favorite prospect based on character but that may end up hurting our chances of landing him. Word is he is having a hard time going back on his word and really struggling with it. If he wasn't already committed I think he would of committed on his trip. Hell if Miles would of accepted his commitment back at the start of the season we wouldn't be dealing with this right now.
This sucks. Seems like a good kid. But from what you posted it seems like he really wants to be here and not in Norman and just doesn't know how to tell Big Game Bob that he isn't on board. I'm sure we have someone to deliver the bad news right? Isn't that a position on the staff?
He is 50/50 and hasn't said No to us yet and hasn't confirmed with OU. I am hoping he is trying to soften the blow.
