We all knew replacing 8 of 9 position players wasn't going to be easy. And it's not like Lange and Poche have been terrible. We just need them to be perfect, which is unrealistic. Lange has to regain his fastball command. How many first pitch fastball hits has he given up?? Plenty. I do agree that our bullpen is frustrating to watch at times. Reynolds threw well yesterday but Bugg continues to struggle. Dunn has to figure something out. But our guys have to throw strikes. Walks and hit batters are killers. Our guys can hit, just haven't had consistent timely hitting. Only Papierski is pretty much an out, so there's that. Even after yesterday, we still have 8 guys hitting 0.286 or higher, 6 over 0.300 and Duplantis over 0.400. What an impressive hitter he is. So smooth. Looks like a left handed Raph Rhymes to me. I keep holding out hope that things come together in the second half of the season.
Bamer hitting the shit out of us is unnerving. Their bats were not their strong point and they have tee'd off the whole weekend.
He graduated from UAB in '91; BS in Pys Ed. While I'm not personally familiar with the family, I know people who are. He's a Blazer with a lot of his family running in the Bartow circles.
