Junior Jared Poche' fired seven scoreless innings to lead sixth-ranked LSU to a 12-1 victory over Fordham in the opening game of the series Friday evening at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
Watched most of the replay and after 6 innings, Poche gave up 5 runs on 3 hits. 4 homers. I am a little bit pissed at both Dunn and CPM for leaving him in after 3 innings and 2 homers just to face more if the yips. He is a fantastic pitcher and yes, it digs into the pen rotation for the weekend, but poche has proven that with the yips, best to pull him if you wanna win games. Instead, they leave him in to continue his nightmare. When the kid walked off after that mess, he totally wanted to run his head entirely up his ass. Fucking miserable to let a pitcher just suffer that way and the look on CPM's face after he walked off tells me he agrees. Ball state can hit and Lange is up. Pray if it is a shit show, that we yank him before it gets too ugly. leave him in and lose this series and I will have serious questions about a pen I thought pre-season could be nails. Alex Lange needs to show up tonight and surgically put their cocks in their watch pocket. He needs it bad against these bats or this season is looking like it could be pretty long haul.
You make too much of these kids suppsedly delicate psyches. CPM probably left Poche on because by now he doesn't trust the bullpen. It's almost game time and it's raining pretty hard at my house and I only live about 5 miles from Alex Box. I don't think they can play tonight. I wanted to see Lange get back on track and shut them down.
I disagree, pitchers are classic head cases and its best to treat them as such. They are clearly not like the rest of us.
Poche gave up 6 HR's last season, 5 in 2014. 4 Last night... Poche got the yips in CWS game 3 against TCU in a 10 to 3 loss while they let him keep having the yips. You don't see the pattern?
That ump really fucked is there. Same pitch was walk 4 before and strike 1 after. Then, a triple and boom 2 runs instead of 1.
