I'm not concerned at all about our pitching. It was just one of those nights. I am pleased with the offensive output so far this year. This will be a fun team to watch develop this year. Don't get down on one loss.
But it ain't. Lamar showing they have a far better baseball showing than their football team. They have a lineup that almost reminds me of ours last season. Half an off night from a pitcher and they are gonna t-off. And they did. I was more impressed with their hitting than I was with how horrible our pitching was. Them fuggers beat the zonies AND us in a week. Happens they just look pretty good. It's baseball and nights like last night should be expected for a team this ridiculously young. Pitching will come around and last night was a great opportunity for new faces to show what they got against a stellar lineup. I think we have seen, what, 3 or 4 brand new tigers on the mound in 4 games, most transfers. It's just what you are gonna get this part of the season. Relax, this is LSU and them boys are gonna make some noise. Bats are working and that comes to me as a bigger shock than our pen. Game 1 had me thinking we were gonna be small ball. Yeah, fuck that... Any gripes I might have at this point is allowing a bad night on the mound, load the bags with no outs. Short on pulling the hook, but we just love to see if our guys are gonna pitch their way out of a jam. Truth is, if everybody is gonna suck, make em all suck. Artificial dirt. How horribly pathetic is that concept? I mean, a team like Lamar with limited budget, don't wanna rake dirt, sure. But there are some powerhouses out there that have that bullshit and it is an obvious disadvantage to the visitors. Papierski was chasing every dirt ball like it was a fucking squirrel and then lost a few. Real dirt don't do that. Runs score on bullshit like that.
Bain isn't new. Nor were the rest of the pitchers that pooped in their pants. But it happens. To even be in the game when you hit 4 and walk 8 is amazing IMO>
CPM tends to hold on to a bad pitching hand too long at the worst times hoping for a miracle turnaround. Saw it in CWS as well.
Poche, Stallings, Reynolds and now Norman. Killing it with near a dozen k's. Shutout and this thing is done. 6-0, Tigers
