His defense is complicated. At least in terms of not the traditional position names. "Buck role" "F linebacker". The Buck is a stand-up defensive end. I'm very excited to see our D. Away with that 3rd and Chavis!! That bastard gave yall one in Tiger Stadium a few back. Got dam prevent bullshit. Not this year mutha phucker. Going to be a long ride home. Here's a good read if you're interested. http://blogs.theadvocate.com/tigert...lation-position-moves-and-mid-year-enrollees/
Miles should use every OOC game in Tiger Stadium to work on the passing game. We know what our RB's can do. They don't need that much work. Let Harris and Etling throw it all over the field in those games............
It's a terminology thing. Complicated? Meh. After a decade I still see people get confused on JACK so I get what you're trying to say. I've seen mention of some shuffling like DE's to LB'ers but haven't taken the time to look and see who, where, etc. There's an adjustment with new scheme, shuffling personnel, and it's one of those questions I have about what the LSU defense is going to look like this year. New coordinators do that often especially when moving out of a traditional 4-3. It's something that has my curiosity piqued. For a coordinator coming out of another conference, he's not that unfamiliar. If you think about it, since the first day of 2014 we've seen Wisky four times against conference teams. Bama fans got a pretty good look in September of last year.
Don't be surprised to see LSU line up in four man fronts at times this season. Even the three-man fronts will play a linebacker close to the line with his hand on the ground. But its never the same linebacker. Like Saban's defenses, it is designed to confuse the offense. It requires an exceptional nose tackle. LSU has one in Godchaux. But a stud backup must emerge quickly. The nose will be double and triple teamed on every play. He will tire quickly without relief and the potential for injury is significant.
The homers will say he's going to keep it vanilla not to let opponents see. Problem with that is no one ever sees it cause it's non existent. Remember every year, "Oh this offense blah blah" from the line to the complete unit.
I thought the notion defensive players being tired and therefore being more susceptible to injury wasn't to be believed?
